Time that muppet in No 10 disappeared! Yesterday was Trafalgar Day yet all we heard on PMQ's was the muppet crack jokes about a 30 year old film. To make matters worse ONLY ONE MP was wearing a poppy. Nice government we have! |

I do not want to derail this discussion by hiding posts that include snipes "protected" by topic-related comments. My hope is that certain posters will connect with their inner grown-ups and cease sniping. If this is not possible then I ask that, for simplicity of moderation, you snipe in posts without other content, so that I can swoop in on my broom, hide the snipes and send the two of you on holiday - preferably together, to some remote, deserted island... without Friday around to help you survive the ordeal. So there!!! |

With today's Budget & Spending Review trying to save costs & reduce the govenment's debt, it makes me wonder why they suddenly changed the goalposts & added a £38bn debt onto the govenments books... Network Rail sell-off to fund Upgrades ... another sell off of public property at a low cost to make the fatcats in the city richer again? "Network Rail has struggled since it became a public body last year. That was a move that immediately turned the funding taps off, because it could no longer borrow cash on the private markets. Instead, its £38bn debt went onto the government's books, and ministers refused to lend bosses any more money." |

We could cover some of this debt here if we stopped giving moey away as aid to other countries, aid that we really could do with at home. A good one though, the Government has given kenya £25 million so that they along with our meteorlogical boffins can study kenyan rain makers...do you think I'm joking?...I'm not !! The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes. |

You might not be joking, though your source could be. The Kenyan rainmaker project was part of the £25M Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA) programme, not all of it. The CCAA was launched in 2006, ended in 2012 and supported over 40 projects. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |
