Message 1604934 - Posted: 24 Nov 2014, 17:15:55 UTC - in response to Message 1603620.

Looking good...

UKIP secures 2nd Westminster MP

...time for the "Yellow" crows to eat humble pie...

"As for the Lib Dems, not only were they again overhauled by the Greens, but they secured a derisory 349 votes - their lowest total ever."

...& will get much lower in 6 months time!

Looking at the full list:
Mark Reckless (UKIP) 16,867 (42.10%)
Kelly Tolhurst (Conservative) 13,947 (34.81%)
Naushabah Khan (Labour) 6,713 (16.76%)
Clive Gregory (Green) 1,692 (4.22%)

Geoff Juby (Lib Dem) 349 (0.87%)
Hairy Knorm Davidson (Official Monster Raving Loony Party) 151 (0.38%)
Stephen Goldsbrough (Ind) 69 (0.17%)
Nick Long (People Before Profit) 69 (0.17%)
Jayda Fransen (Britain First) 56 (0.14%)
Mike Barker (Ind) 54 (0.13%)
Charlotte Rose (Ind) 43 (0.11%)
Dave Osborn (Patriotic Socialist Party) 33 (0.08%)

Christopher Challis (Ind) 22 (0.05%)

Lib Dems biggest humiliation will come when they're beaten by the Monster Raving Loonies, but one has to feel slightly sorry for Christopher Challis with 22! That's probably not even his entire family.

Warming up nicely, just in time for Winter!

May given up on "incompetent" No 10

Ali vs Snoopy

"Strong points: Vicar’s daughter Mrs May is serious. She makes Angela Merkel look a bit daytime TV."

Now that would be worth paying to see :-)

I do admire Theresa May, we need more women like her in the government.
Proves that it needn't be a man's world.

Girl Power

"If only more people would "'fess up" to not having all the answers, politics might be more engaging, the room heard."

That would be a great start.

Or at least the "real" version of Newsnight interviews - with subtitles breaking down what politicians are really saying.

That sounds risky.

Politician: “We must learn from the past, not be the past. Decide or decline. That is the choice. We must choose the future.”
Subtitle: "Help! I don't know what i'm doing!"

Pig Farmer caught supping at the trough - Again

Some people never learn!

£300 a day TAX FREE attendance allowance? No wonder people go into politics!

"When confronted, he told a reporter: ‘I could name 50 other peers that do it.’"
Name them now!

"Labour MP Michael McCann said: ‘If a constituent of mine clocked in and disappeared they would be sacked – no ifs, no buts."

So we can expect to see some sackings then?

A national disgrace!

"The government has confirmed that it is bulldozing ahead with the re-privatisation of the East Coast Main Line despite all the figures showing that the current public sector operator is handing over a billion pounds back to the British people while delivering huge improvements in service and customer satisfaction.""

Says it all really, totally out of touch. It seems that some Liebour puke has been lurking on this thread...

"Labour has said it wants to change the law to allow the publicly-owned firm which took over the running of the East Coast Mainline franchise in 2009 - Directly Operated Railways - to bid for other franchises."

Hmmm, didn't the Nick & Sirius show say that sometime ago?

Interesting reading...

"Think the unthinkable?"

...very apt ending...

"By pushing ahead with the deeply unpopular poll tax, they showed they cared more about clinging on to their view of the world than staying in power. Not for the first time or the last, those who rule us found they couldn't bear too much reality."

It is time some bimbos grew up, and stopped bringing parliament and parliamentarians into disrepute. I hope she resigns or is sacked.

spoof speech As one Sunday paper has alreadt commented

No laughing matter

Penny Mordaunt is a refreshing change from most MPs, blessed with a sense of humour and lacking in self-importance. And it is tempting to laugh off her silly speech on poultry welfare, apparently made for a bet, as a harmless jest.

Yet it would be wrong. We have to take Parliament seriously, for in the end it is the heart of our constitution. There is no harm in making jokes there – we could do with more.

But treating Parliament as a joke is something else altogether.

Quite so.

WHY? We could do with more like her instead of many who deem themselves above all others, for example, Nickerless Clegg, the turncoat king or Cameron the buffoon no one believes in anymore. As for Milliband...

Because parliament doesn't need any help in that area.

It probably did less harm than anything else he might be up to.

Thanks for the link, Sirius, to Question Time. I'm a great fan of Russell Brand and Enoch Powell was wrong.

So we agree to disagree. Brand is a loud mouthed wastrel. He stated that wealth is in the hands of the few & not getting distributed, so how about him distributing some of his?

As for Enoch, many took his statements to be racist. They were not, he never advocated uncontrolled immigration, especially to the extent we see today, so in that respect, the man was right.

Seems funny that since "Good old Nigel" stood up & stated that, the Tories have jumped on the bandwagon - pure soundbites for 2015 - they'll end up doing nothing as usual.

One thing for sure, Sirius, Enoch always had his eye on the wider picture on
things....something that is sorely missing regarding our current political
classes.
