Can't remember if I mentioned it in this thread or not but I read something recently that said some scientists believe our bodies are healthier asleep than awake.

I heard that too... barring freak accidents like cows falling through your roof onto you of course :/

I very rarely get dreams where I wake up laughing - but when I do I can NEVER remember the punchline so to speak. Very frustrating! Never any problems remembering the nightmares or the ones where I wake up crying though. :(

My theory on stupid dreams is that the brain is just having a nocturnal break from being its usual highly intelligent self... and I'm sticking to that theory :)

Honestly, I can't say I've ever woken up laughing either. I wonder why we tend to remember the weird or sad dreams more?

Most of the times when I wake up, I start singing immediately. I love to sing, clears out those lungs and gives your good mood a boost:) My neighbours aren't to happy about it though...

I always remember my dreams. :/

Last night's was an unpleasant fusion of the episode of CSI I watched last night about cannibals, the Margaret Atwood MaddAddam series of books I been reading and visit back to Brixton.

I need a cup of tea now.

I'll stop the funny dreams if every one says so.

Dreaming about jokes, once I dreamed that I was in Japan
in a fast food shop. (A McDonald's),
After ordering a hamburger, in my dream I called it a Big Mac-zu.
I then ordered a soda, called a Soda-zu.
After I was finished I needed to go to the wash room, now in the
dream I couldn't think of the right Japanese word so I asked for the
'Szit-zu Poo poo room. For some reason I woke up laughing.
This is a true story.

I was working hard yesterday doing what any old man likes to do,
arguing with people in government. After my having worked the
phones for most of the morning negotiating, I was pretty tuckered
out, so I laid down on my couch and started to delve in to a power nap.
While I was sleeping I was having this marvelous dream where I was in
the offices of the ministry of health dealing with one of the
minister's minions. That man appeared to have a severe language handicap.
During our negotiating session when ever that person was supposed to
say yes or no, all he could say was maybe. Things went on like this back
and forth for some time. I started to realize that the person I was dealing
with could speak just fine, he just seemed to have what I call an 'idiot block.'
No matter what line of reasoning I used, or what sort of facts I could
bring to the session, this person just could not think past maybe. Now
even when I am awake I have a very hard time dealing with people who
make me suffer with their 'idiot block.' Even on the internet there are
times when I would love to be right next to a person when they are displaying this
kind of behavior. To make a short story shorter, just as I was about to give this fine
person a some what more graphic demonstration of the logic of my position,
I woke up. For the rest of the day things were sort of messed up for me.
Such dreams are upsetting if for no other reason than it is not often that
I am not in control of things. After all when I am dreaming they are my
dreams, right? I also feel bad for LSM. She is no fool, and with me only
replying maybe to every thing she was saying allowed her to know some
thing was very wrong. I am still trying to figure out if it was the idiots
on the phones, the idiot in my dreams, or some idiot in the forms that
was affecting me.

Last night I dreamt that I went to visit Eric and Angela. We went out for icecream, but the icecream place was all dark and a mysterious stranger was handing out frozen sockeye salmon fillets. We went to the pub and got lost trying to get back and I'd left my laptop out in the rain, which really annoyed Matt Lebofsky.

This is totally how I imagine any trip to Berkeley will be, except I think there will be more cookies.

I have dreams all the time.........
And ya know, I have never considered or tried to comprhend whether they were black and white or colors inbetween.
It's more just the factual matter............
I think it's black and white, but it does not present itself as such.
Maybe neutral.........50 shades of gray.
Very nice dreams, those.........
But the most vivid dreams I seem to have are ones of trying to escape..........trying to move my legs and I cannot. I am trapped.

I feel that way too, sometimes; like my legs are weighted down and I can't move.

If that happens, I wake myself up. Gift maybe not, as I most likely won't go to sleep again.

Ang I am part of the insomnia club, so all dreams, are welcome. Meaning I am getting some sleep.
