I have strange dreams, all in color, some repeats, some of flying ETs.
I had a difficult childhood, that might explain why I can manipulate my dreams.
It is not something we can teach each other.

Hi Uli. I always find my repeat ones so tiring! They always seem to involve crawling through tiny spaces to get to places that other people can just walk through doors to enter. Bizarre :)

I don't have too many reruns, and I've never had the tiny spaces dream. ~I'm glad I don't!

I have a lot of the classic dreams like where you haven't been to class all semester and you realize there's a test today.

Eric and I have both been out of school for a long time, but we both still have something like that dream from time to time. My variation on the school dream, probably because I attended a liberal arts college as an undergrad, involves being enrolled in a class, forgetting to drop it and then finding out that the lengthy term paper is due tomorrow. This never happened to me. I never dropped a class in college and I never forgot to write a term paper. Why are school dreams so common?

I also have recurring dreams that I'm in a large house with many interconnecting rooms and doors(kind of like the Matrix), and I don't know where to go.

I have a similar dream where a house is under construction, I go in to look around and I get trapped in a strange house and I'm unable to get out. Again, not an incident from my actual life, but a recurring nightmare nevertheless...

My dreams are never positive, happy ones. At best they are neutral. I'm a pretty happy person in real life, but my dream life is a mess!

Oh that damned college dream. I attend only the first day of class then I'm later reminded on the last day of class that the final is today and if I don't pass I don't graduate. To make matters worse I can't remember where the class is at.

Weird, had a dream last night about being in an exam. I was late (got lost) and people had to move their desks so I could get to the desk I was assigned to.

Now that I am not as sick as I was I have been trying to get used to
not taking a whole lot of dope any more. All of this has been affecting
my sleeping habits quite a bit. Last night I dreamed that I could not sleep
at all, so when I awoke this morning I was dog tired.....

The only thing I can figure with the school dreams we all seem to have variations of, is that time in our life was great in many ways, but it was also stressful in some ways, and it made a huge impression in our brains, so when we're asleep, the mind has some basic instinct to go for these emotions and play with them.

I have these too, but they don't bother me. I am a Tax Pro, so being tired is normal for me during this time of the year.

During my teaching practicum I forgot to go and teach a class once. I think it was a Freudian slip because they were a particularly horrible class. Needless to say I got into a lot of trouble over that one.

I still have the reoccurring dream that I've turned up to teach a class and I am not prepared at all and have no idea what I'm doing.

Oh oh, I had another one of them flying dreams last night.
I was walking home from the post office and a fresh breeze
came up, and it hit me right in the face so before I knew
it I was flying. I flew all around the town, then I flew over
to the Fort to have a look at that place. Finally I flew back
home and went in to my house to go to bed. This morning
I woke up and man were my arms tired......

Why not, Ulibelle? Dreams are bizarre and often funny. As human beings we seem to be hard-wired to seek meaning, and often we look for meanings in things that are just the nonsensical musings of our minds when they are half off and half on. If we cannot laugh at some of the things our sleepy minds come up with, then it seems to me that we are taking this subject far too seriously.

I dont have many flying dreams. But I do have some extremely physical active ones. And yes I do wake up tired. In both body and spirit.
Now that im getting to be what kids today call an old fart. I think the dreams I have are a reflection of my own fears, Angst, Hope, Anxiety, and what ever else my mind thinks up.

But I do have to say my dreams are sometimes down right stupid. They make no logical sense at all. When I wake up, I think what the hell was that about.

The dreams I've been having the past several days tie in to my anxiety about my mother's illness, and losing someone like that. Yesterday afternoon I dreamed I was at a construction site, where there appeared to be several large swimming pools under construction and an old friend of mine was there. She asked me if I'd like to swim across with her. None of the pools had water in them though, but once we walked down a hill, we discovered a very long narrow pool with water in it sparkling from the sun. I don't really remember what happened after that. Darn dreams are so ethereal.

I think the crazy stupid dreams are the most fun. My dreams tend to be a little too serious. I'd love to have a "dumb and dumber" style dream tomorrow. ~Something to make me laugh! I can't remember the last time I had a funny dream.

I get my share of them. The trouble is I cant remeber them when I wake up after falling back asleep. I think I should have a pen and paper on my night stand.

I do write stuff down if it's an "ah-ha" type dream where I figured something out. Rarely makes any real sense however. Only in the other reality.
