Actually I stopped by to copy my profile to another site and had a PM about this waiting for me. Wasn't the first time someone thought I had created a fake acct (all proven false! Muahahaha!) So let me, once, get this out of the way regarding my initial and continued impressions. I told you so!

Anyway I really don't think this story beats out NEZ's story. Emotions aside I think that was more of a shocker. It's a shame I missed out on all the detective work. I have an orbiting spy satellite with a SETI sticker on it.

I can assure you now that the Sidney account is absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the person apparently behind this Allie business, that I can promise you. And I would be 99.9% sure that the Miggins account is also nothing to do with that whatsoever either.

In the dial up days, I used to be GAYJ (I was the "A"... oh it's all coming out now :))... till my computer blew up and I decided not to give another one the chance to be so... emphatically rude. I don't remember the message boards at all... but that may have been because I spent every spare moment watching the pretty graphics. :) (the new ones sort of move around a lot don't they... which makes my eyes go funny... so I don't watch them much at all now.)

I... I never returned my last work unit. The shame of that memory has never left me... but my email account and password details did...

Returning to SETI as me rather than "A" was both a delight and a terrible shock... it seemed so... competitive... and nothing at all like I remembered. Crunching more than one work unit in a few hours when it used to take days if not weeks!?

And then I found the message boards... and can I dare say we're still friends? :)

I totally understand why people are upset and I am also sure that our perp is reading this thread. So please, Kenzie/Shannon/Allie/Daryl/AKA Sam/Patrice tell us why you did it?

So far I haven't heard from anyone who has been defrauded or hurt by this apart from feeling deceived. So perhaps people might want to bear that in mind before they start calling for heads to roll.

If you wish to ban multiple accounts, how about also banning all people who don't use their real names? Wouldn't work, neither would banning multiple accounts, with the mobile devices I have I can log on without using a proxy from my own living room with at least 4 totally different IP addressees, so 4 different people.

No there are no easy answers here, I felt you all needed to know the truth but in the end we learn and move on.

Bernie--please tell me if you have seen the exact wording of the contracts from the models/subjects? Based on what you have posted, I suspect you have not. Then you do not know 100% that there wasn't some type of limited release of the photos or such. It doesn't matter what internet sites these were lifted/posted from or who did it--the contract is what matters. If it is limited release or some type of non-release clause then yes--there is a chance laws have been broken. Especially if a picture of a minor is being used.

You did the right thing by notifying us. Now the process will continue. I am already in process of contacting one of them.

I am pretty sure you have been told several times in this very thread that no children were photographed and no laws have been broken.

Do I still love her? Again, I never loved her. I didn't dislike her at all, she wasn't my cup of tea as she appeared to be pandering a lot to the male fantasy of what a female is, but that was merely my opinion and if that was what she wanted to be then all power to her. It just wasn't interesting to me.

How close were you to her to be so upset about it? Did you fall for it? if not why are you so up in arms? If so, what is it that she did to you that has upset you so much. If something bad was actually done maybe you should share?

She lied. Lots of people lie. Its not nice and she probably got people to open up to her by lying. That is were the real problem is. However its not illegal however hurtful.

I am not condoning what was done at all. I think it was mean. What I do have a problem is the level of hysteria and drum beating about it in this thread.

Well, if someone's life is so utterly bleuch that creating a different life liberates them from it... then I suppose I don't have a problem with it, particularly if they're lonely and don't believe that people could just like them for who they are... so I do see Es's point...

What I don't understand is why they would kill that off after being so successful and gaining so much respect and affection from so many quarters? Or having done so, why they wouldn't just let it lie? Maybe they underestimated just how nice seti's setizen's could be and had to re constitute a different lie to cover the truth? Some people in Canada went to Canada after going to the Elephant and Castle in London. I went to the Elephant and Castle two weeks ago - and have been trying to persuade my mum to move her basement to Canada ever since. No luck yet. :(
