The last time a student wanted to interview members of a forum I belonged to he turned out to be a reporter for New Yorker magazine. So who called this A McKenzie, did he put on a falsetto voice?

It was so obvious!

No, he got invited to a private party. He was vouched for by a member he interviewed. Then it was written up in the New Yorker. Fortunately for me I don't get real world involved with people on the Internet.

Indeed and the moral of this is to not take all you see on the internet/chat rooms/forums/Facebook etc.. as real.

On the other hand please don't start suspecting everyone as being fake, I am sure there are some nice people out there!

You called, Julie? :) I'm feeling such a mug right now. Not the first time obviously! There's no harm that could be caused is there from sending what I thought was a personal message to a young girl who'd lost her mum? I am a bit of a soppy sack when it comes to sad stories. I'm trying to wrack my brain about whether I gave away any personal details beyond those I've splattered all over the boards already of course :) - but can't remember ... and does anyone know how to find a copy of sent personal messages because I can't seem to. I just write and send them.
