If the signals turn out to be actually from the flight recorders then not being inhumane, but I hope that the plane disintegrated in the air, that the end was fast. However if it went into a dive and hit the water... ...many years ago on a flight the aircraft I was travelling on hit an air pocket... ...I think many that day needed fresh pants. |

Angus just said in the "not-too-distant future" they will have found the final resting place of the flight. I for one can't wait to find out what country is hiding their incompetence or outright involvement in this. |

Well the Ocean Shield has now cut the search area down by 50% since picking up the 1st signals (which is still a large area) and is now continuing to reduce the size further while it can still pickup those signals before deploying the Blue Fin 21 as the autonomous underwater vehicle can only travel at walking speed so getting the area reduced as far as possible will mean pinpointing the exact location of the plane will be achieved that much sooner. Cheers. |

Yes Julie, some experts are saying that there could be up to 30m of silt on the floor that the plane could sink into. A P3-Orion is being reported here this morning of having picked up the pings yesterday in the vicinity of the Ocean Shield. Cheers. |

Yes Julie, some experts are saying that there could be up to 30m of silt on the floor that the plane could sink into. That's the trouble these "experts" (talking heads) have to fill 24 hours of "news" with little or no facts. Facts that change by the hour. What worries me is after the black boxes are recovered. by law, they must be returned to Malaysia unopened, that is what the "experts" on CNN said anyway. IMHO Malaysia is hiding something, it may only be their incompetence but it is something. |

They better get their skates on... Signal rapidly fading ...with all our modern technology this debacle is still continuing? Has anyone stopped to think of the turmoil 239 families are going through? |

Has anyone stopped to think of the turmoil 239 families are going through? Not really, I have enough real personal grief then to worry about any of the 155,000 strangers who die everyday or many thousands those just disrepair. Cruel, not really the billions lest don't give me a nanosecond of thought ether. |

Now there is a report that the co-pilot's cell phone emitted a signal just prior to the plane's disappearance off the radar. Also that they (Malaysia) are conducting a criminal investigation around the pilot and copilot. At this stage of things I would be hesitant about riding in an airliner piloted by a muslim. They seem to be able to hide their true intentions right up to the time they are called on to make their ultimate sacrifice to Alla, making the whole muslim community suspect in the eyes of the rest of the world. Now there is a report that the co-pilot's cell phone emitted a signal just prior to the plane's disappearance off the radar. Also that they (Malaysia) are conducting a criminal investigation around the pilot and copilot. The criminal investigation should concentrate on the Malaysian government. They have no idea what they are in for from a free inquiring press. There is a list of lies miles long they have spouted from day one. In that part of the world law means nothing so OZ better open the black box and control the investigation. If Putin can invade a country OZ can open the box. If they cry to the UN NP, two members of the "five-eyes" club have veto power. If China is not in on it they will veto giving Malaysia the box too. |

It's this kind of speculation that does much of the damage to Muslims and other groups. Better to stick to facts, fact is we don't know what happened, and until such time as we do know what happened, wild guessing doesn't help. Today's news here was, Missing Malaysia Airlines plane MH370 ‘thrown around like fighter jet’ in bid to avoid radar, source claims. (this morning) MISSING Malaysia Airlines jet MH370 was “thrown around like a fighter jet†in the moments after it lost contact with authorities in a bid to avoid radar, an investigator has said. Search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 set to go under water. (this afternoon) THE search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 is set to shift to the vast depths of the Indian Ocean. On a side note is, MH370 search highlights Indian Ocean trash. (this evening) THE search for debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight has been made harder by vast amounts of floating plastic rubbish, with research showing the Indian Ocean is one of the world's most polluted seas. Also tonight's TV news reported that the light oil slick that was found is not common to shipping and samples of it have been taken for testing. Cheers. |

It is much easier to search where they are now then where they first thought it went down; it is warmer and calmer. One thing is for certain; this is one very unusual incident. I hope we find out what happened; so far it is a Soprano type ending where it just goes black. |

]MISSING Malaysia Airlines jet MH370 was “thrown around like a fighter jet†in the moments after it lost contact with authorities in a bid to avoid radar, an investigator has said. That is what's bugging me. THAT didn't raise any red flags? With all the contentious issues on that side of the world, surely someone must have noticed its suspicious behaviour? |

So, if it does end up being proved that it was a pilot induced crash in an attempt to create a hostage situation how would you feel then? I know it's not fair to all the law abiding peace loving muslims of the world but incidents of the recent past do not help their case. Everyone has the right to practice the religion of their choice until that practice starts violating the basic rights of others. It then goes beyond religion and becomes simple crime. If this is a who and not a what, why all the trouble to just become a mystery? Then their who becomes a maybe what. |

Everyone has the right to practice the religion of their choice until that practice starts violating the basic rights of others. It then goes beyond religion and becomes simple crime. Since when does practicing the Muslim faith automatically result in someone elses rights being violated? Pretty sure the Quran doesn't say a faithful Muslim must hijack a plane or strap bombs to his chest. For every suicide bomber or plane hijacked there are tens of thousands, probably even more, Muslims who are equally horrified by such behavior. Really this is like saying all Christians are horrible people because the Westboro Baptist Church says they are Christians. But no one would make the ridiculous leap of logic that therefor all Christians are like that. |

A robotic submarine deployed to search for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane in the southern Indian Ocean has had its first mission cut short. The Bluefin-21 was sent to search the sea floor for wreckage after signals believed to be consistent with "black box" flight recorders were detected. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-27030741 Please let's keep religion, race, etc...OUT Of Discussions Thanks! There are the family's we also must consider. |

Once it's been proved, then such comment may be justified for this specific event. However, until it has been proved, it isn't. Lynn is right, lets keep religion out of this. For the 2nd time now the Bluefin-21 has exceeded it's 4500m depth cutting short another dive and the FAA will require that all planes have a GPS tracking system called Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) radio network by 2020. Cheers. |
