Hi, All CLI system Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 Server Using only boinc-client There's several directories for the boinc-client: 1. Which is what? 2. If I would like to place a shell script I've done, nothing in particular, where would I put it? Which is the "directory" you enter your user files in? /var/lib/boinc-client/* /usr/bin/boinc/* /etc/boinc-client/ * set in /etc/default/boinc-client placed in /etc/default/ which of course is a system directory, not boincs own! 3. /etc/boinc-client/ I'll guess files inhere will be read at boot-up!? If, does the file need to be defined somewhere to be read at boot-up? 4. Are there more boinc directories? default directories after installation of boinc-client?? Once, a long time ago, Mr. Ageless I think it was, tried to explain me some about this. But I can't remember it, and I didn't understand it quite either. So if you/someone has got the time, please spell it out for me ;) . Hello Mr. Ageless ;) Thanks.. I looked in the wrong places, I can see that ;) Puts the BOINC binaries (boinc, boinccmd and boincmgr) in /usr/bin . Creates a configuration directory /etc/boinc-client containing files cc_config.xml, global_prefs_override.xml, gui_rpc_auth.cfg, and remote_hosts.cfg (It is a Debian convention that such files live under /etc) Creates the working directory /var/lib/boinc-client/ for BOINC data files and the slots and projects directories. Also creates links from this directory to the files in /etc/boinc-client Creates a user named boinc. For improved security, this boinc user owns the BOINC working directory and all the data files and sub-directories created under the working directory. Creates the daemon "init" script, /etc/init.d/boinc-client, and a set of configuration options for the daemon at /etc/default/boinc-client Sets up the daemon to autostart at boot time. Thanks for helping me... Have a nice day ;) Project Headless CLI Linux Multiple GPU Boinc Servers Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 64bit Kernel 3.13.0-32-generic CPU's i5-4690K GPU's GT640/GTX750TI Nvidia v.340.29 BOINC v.7.2.42 |
