Does SETI@home run GPU and CPU versions simultaneously?
No. If BOINC determines your CPU is capable of running the CUDA version, only the CUDA version of SETI@home will run. One copy will run on each GPU you have installed. If you want to keep your CPUs occupied at the same time, you can join another BOINC project.
The BOINC developers expect the capability to run CPU and GPU jobs simultaneously for the same application will be added in the next couple months.

Will I have to choose when running CLI environment/e.g. Ubuntu Server or does it just run GPU jobs when detecting a GPU?

If BOINC determines your CPU is capable of running the CUDA version

WHAT??? Please explain this :o

I think he meant " if bonic determines your GPU is capable of running the Cuda version."

Don't trust this OOOOOOOLD info (maybe 6 years old)

I even don't know how did you get there, I needed to Google "No. If BOINC determines your CPU" to find the page:

Hi Bilbg,

From CUDA FAQ:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/cuda_faq.php

Hi Kevin, you are crashing a thread. Make a new one using a good headline, and then maybe one of the guru's will "spring the trap" ;)

It's a sticky thread in the GPU forum.

Edit: I emailed Eric and asked him to look at the FAQ and either adjust its glaring mistakes, or take it down... we'll see what it'll be.

HI,

Well, it's a little mistake. We all does those, just look at me ;)

But anyway, please confirm that both CPU jobs and GPU jobs are running at the same time when having a system with an accepted GPU and a CPU (SETI@home) ;)

Thanks ;)

As far as I know there is no way to directly get information via the CLI whether a task was assigned to GPU or CPU.
You have to either check the website task list against the local task list and look which were assigne to GPU or you look in client_state.xml and check which tasks were assigned a (GPU) plan_class.

If a GPU was detected and if your preferences are set to ask for GPU tasks, the yes, both CPU and GPU should be running tasks.
