Just a bit of history to start: this is the basic computer that we could not get to stop throwing GPU errors when I was running on Win 8.1. Well I put a new HD in and installed WIN 7 and basically had the same problems leaving me with no solution except it is probably some driver and the AMD CPU (remember I tried two different AMD CPUs and two different MBs). Well I have found that with the current setup if I run a MB on the GPU it will error out with a -9 overflow. So I stopped accepting MBs and only accepted APs. Now I can see that running APs on the CPU is just not efficient at all, they take close to 15 hours to complete while on the GPU they take 1-2 hours. What I want to do is run the APs only on the GPU and MBs on the CPU. There must be some easy way to do that? Current settings are no MBs but I will accept if nothing else is available which gives me a few every now and then. This is the current computer in BOINC: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7226971 SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

I see, you are running the Lunatics installer with anonymous platform, so your wish is easily accomplished: You want AP to only run on GPU, so simply delete the AP-CPU-app from appinfo.xml. You want MB to only run on CPU, so simply delete the MB-GPU-app from appinfo.xml. If you want to be nice, you'll let the system run dry on WUs, before you do the suggested changes to appinfo.xml, or the WUs for the deleted apps will be dumped. Aloha, Uli |

I am not sure which to delete as I can not tell which app's apply to what exactly. The MB-GPU-apps are named Lunatics_xxxxxx.exe and in general the apps using the following tags <avg_ncpus>x.y</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>x.y</max_ncpus>and <coproc> <type>CUDA</type> <- just for example, could be something else like ATI, AMD or intel <count>X</count> </coproc> are apps which use the GPU. If these tags are missing, it's a CPU-only app. Aloha, Uli |

Sorry but I do not feel comfortable deleting anything as I am not sure what I am doing. I could post the entire file but that seems like a lot of bandwidth. I will try an email, I hope that is OK? SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

(...) I will try an email, I hope that is OK? That's ok, i answered your pm with a modified appinfo.xml, but try at your own risk - good luck! ;) Aloha, Uli |
