No new tapes coming? One finally started. I was about to enter Panic Mode. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Yes, but I leave BOINC to manage requests. Up to a few days ago, it asked for work. Not it gets only Einstein@home and Test4Theory@home. Tullio I checked it. I must have pressed the "No new tasks" button. Sorry. |

Thanks, although this is the only project that refuses to send me any work. I am running BOINC on two computers, but one doesn't get work. The other has no problem. |

Thanks, although this is the only project that refuses to send me any work. I am running BOINC on two computers, but one doesn't get work. The other has no problem. That's not true, Seti has sent both computers work, But you're then gone and aborted it all on one of them, and a large chunk on the other (and you're still got work there sitting around not getting crunched): All tasks for computer 6653993 All tasks for computer 6199498 What is really happening is Boinc isn't asking for work from Seti often as it has enough work from other projects, and it isn't the Seti project's turn to get asked for work, and when it is, it may only be for the CPU work is asked for. Actually, I think I aborted only cpu tasks not gpu, although I could have made a mistake, which I would welcome. I also installed just now on one computer the newest 7.2.42 with the virtual box, hopefully with good luck to follow. |

It would appear something is clogging up the works... On the plus side Neil Tyson's Cosmos redux looks most promising - even though it made me miss Carl. Member of the 20 Year Club |

Now I'm panicking, and it's not over the servers. Right about 20 minutes ago, all my home computers stopped communicating with the internet, including the netbook. I don't know if the power went out or my internet went down or what. In another hour, I can run home on lunch and check it. None of which is important to any of you. In another hour, I can run home on lunch and check it. That was already figured in. It came back about 55 minutes after it went down. No indication that the power went out, so it must have been the internet. Thanks a lot, Uverse. If this is the most interesting thing happening in this thread, the project must be in pretty good shape. Wait, no one is whining about the lack of APs. Wait, no one is whining about the lack of APs. guess everyone's cache is still full... Or : the idea of "they will fix it eventually" finally sunk in. |

What's wrong woth the validatos/assimilators? Seems, it is preventing new work to be split. Maybe a lack of disk space. |

Another stuck tape? MB splitter output has dropped off from it's already low levels. It was chugging along in the mid 20's for a while there, now it's struggling to make it even as high as 20/s. And now that there's no more AP going out (and it's assimilators & validators still aren't doing much), the ready-to-send buffer is making it's usual fall to nothing. Grant Darwin NT |

On the plus side Neil Tyson's Cosmos redux looks most promising - even though it made me miss Carl. Thanx for the heads up!:) I've got the original series Box Set on DVD right here next to me, on my bookshelf, staring me in the face... It might as well be on VHS, since I haven't played a DVD of any sort in years:( |

Can anyone give me a suggestion why my SETI is sending the following message on this computer? I am trying to get GPU units. 3/11/2014 8:53:00 AM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 3/11/2014 8:53:00 AM | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: don't need 3/11/2014 8:53:03 AM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed wu's are needed, I have only 4 hours of work left on other gpu work at this time. Thank you |

Can anyone give me a suggestion why my SETI is sending the following message on this computer? I am trying to get GPU units. You'd need to run work_fetch_debug to be sure, but I'd wager the full message is either 'not requesting, not highest priority' or 'GPU chache full' IOW either you are not yet below the cache setings you have specified or one of your other projects is due to get gpu work first. Or in boinc terms, in either case you don't need GPU work from SETI right now. If you are curious why, run work_fetch_debug. If you want to force BOINC to get some more seti GPU work, there are a few micromanaging techniques like setting NNT on other projects or simply suspending a task from other projects (also stops work fetch from that project). If all fails, just let BOINC do its thing. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Looks like I will have to wait until BOINC is back on line after its usual two day thing. |

After the outage the splitters started off OK, but since then have come to a crawl- even slower than they were before the outage. Most requests for work result in a "No tasks sent" message with the odd one being a "Project has no tasks available". Grant Darwin NT |
