That nice but could be better if we have a way to comunicate with the guy´s at Colo in the night so they could restart the servers faster and leave the lab guy´s sleep/rest in ther homes.

FYI, I sent E-Mail to David, Eric, Matt & Jeff - because SSP frozen & UL not possible.

Why it's a Saturday!!

Monday will be quite soon enough.

Why do people expect to have work 24/7 and the staff "on call the same"

If there is work, fine if not fine.

Also I suspect the Co-lo would not do anything unless asked by the owners of the servers, so the very idea that we should be able to contact the Co-lo is totally laughable!!

Relax people, if it's not about RAC two, three, four days downtime means nothing.

agreed, yes : I too like it to have a high RAC but sometimes people tend to forget what Seti is really about... Science and hoping to someday E.T.

There is life beyond this VOLUNTEER project isn't there?!

I was just looking through my single core machine's task list and saw an interesting WU.

Uploads just started (slowly) completing.
Try to not all stampede them through at once. :^)

OK, since AP probably will be unavailable for some time, I did finally bite the bullet, and installed the apps for MB v7, CPU as well as GPU. (manually of course, no installer for me, as long as I still have an intact brain.)

MB v7 will be my backup project, until AP is available again. :-)

I'll probably have to do the same tomorrow, enabling GPU MB work on my home (Linux) machine. petri sent me the mods to do it a few weeks ago but the machine has been unstable, dying irregularly (at least three times while I was sat at the console). Latest change has seen it stable for several days -- when I got the new motherboard and CPU I got 1600 MHz memory to go with it, but the BIOS only wanted to run at 1333 MHz so I manually set it to 1600; I've now let the BIOS have its way but it's still too soon to say "Cured!" as, for example, I haven't had much GPU AP work since. But, with no APs to crunch, the GPUs are idle and my RAC is dropping like a feather in a vacuum...

Perhaps with a lot of tapping "retry", but that's not intended.

Out of seven machines on my network, that was the only one that was remotely near dry - and yes, I tapped it. It's re-fetched now (including a reasonable number of non-shorties), so I'll run the slowest ones first so as not to generate too many new uploads.

After a draconian project back-off, I tapped retry just once and all three of my uploads went through in 2-3 tries on their own.

I'm thinking the upload server will be struggling a little bit with the DDoS attack it will be receiving, but it will eventually serve all requests.

Finally some tasks found their way back to the server on their own. *thumbsup*
When the upload queue has drained enough, the clients will eventually start asking for new work again.

[edit]
As i wrote the lines above, one client started to ask for new work. Yeah! ;)

Ready-to-send buffer is almost back down to nothing again.

Once they sort out the recurring upload issues, maybe they could sort out the splitters?

That's.... odd.

The Stderr for the invalid has no autocorr result. The guy is still trying to run v7 tasks through a v6 app. Take a look at Invalid tasks for computer 5940769. Lots of resources going to waste.
