Hi all, I asked this before and someone (Msattler or Claggy, probably) told me how to do it. Sent me a link to the procedure, I think. But now that I'm ready to give it a go, I can't find the damn instructions! As I recall, you need to run multiple instances of Boinc with the other GPUs blocked, except for the one you wish to control. I can probably suss it out - eventually - but not before I generate hundreds or thousands(!) of errored WUs and I don't want to do that. Thanx in advance, again! Member of the 20 Year Club |

I'll buy You a virtual beer or more tonight. I'll open another one! My brain signalled me a moment later that I missed the most important word "friendship". Thank You Juan - a toast to that. -- Petri To overcome Heisenbergs: "You can't always get what you want / but if you try sometimes you just might find / you get what you need." -- Rolling Stones |

... but to get to back to the topic... 1) How could I run a pair of 290x cards along with my NV780's ? Would there be any problems and 2) How to set up? Not the best idea IMHO. Thats 4 generations away. Those cards act totally different to the bus. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Not the best idea IMHO. Oh, I'm sorry. Or I am generations old. The latter may actually be true. :) .. but .. I thought I had in my mind about the latest... From Nvidia and from AMD. Excluding the: Ti, GHz, black... or any other derivation from the 'old' models from yesteryear. AMD : R290X (x twin frozer supercool oc edition Ghz etc.) NV : 780 (Ti, super, OC, WhateverCool, ...) Which one of "two" of them to sit next to my 2x780+CPU? First of all: If the 290x uses power from the PCI-e as noticed (up to 75W, not sure), probabily is not a good ideia to put 2 of them on one host (you could melt your 20 pin MB power connector). IIRC you use Linux so the Vyper´s sugestion will not work for you. I don´t have Linux experience to tell you something else, you need to fine some help from someone else. |

Since you are running a lot AP`s a R9 290x would be a good choice. Those are melting AP`s. But i`d go for a Sapphire Tricool. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Thanks friends, I do not want to melt down anything@home. I do that at work to demonstrate the voltage and the current. ... a pause ... went to at a local resellers ... bought me a pair of .. ... GTX 780's with Direct CU II OC .. (yeah, no Ti, no Titan). sorry for You folks with R290X. This is just to show how scared I am with anything new. -- I'm old -- Am I?
