All my sympathy to Bode Miller who wept for the loss of a brother more than for the loss of a gold or silver medal in the SuperG. He was third with Canadian Jan Hudec after gold medal Kietil Jansrud of Norway and "dark horse" Andrew Weibrecht. also USA, silver. At 36 Miller is the oldest skier to gain an Olympic medal. Bravo Bode! Tullio |

At lunch today, one substitute teacher was telling another her husband's cousin was in the gold medal women's hockey game. I see we lost to Canada (again). Although I don't really care about hockey, I found it interesting that every women's gold medal game except one has been between USA and Canada, since it was added to the Olympics in 1998. Say, did any one catch the Ladies curling It was Canada vs Sweden on CNBC HD, when it was on the score was 4-3, Canada, I think Canada won, as to that game being for the gold medal, that I don't know. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I see that some people are complaining that women's hockey seems to be the same countries over and over. However, men's hockey in the Olympics was the same three countries for 6 Olympics after it started, women's hockey just got a fourth team in the medals (Switzerland) after only 4 or 5 Olympics. My first thought watching the Swiss women receive their bronze medals was "they all look like they are 14 or 15". This could be a team to watch in the future. And I agree with Celt Tooth. They have pro players in hockey now, but a lot of the refs are still amateurs. |

Though after Sochi the NHL has said they will not commit to the Winter Olympics anymore cause it interrupts their season. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

the NHL has said they will not commit to the Winter Olympics anymore Well if you look at history you will see that the NHL says that after every Olympic games. It's called negotiating! |

I worked as an ice tech' for a whole winter years ago and as much as I hate to say this: "The ice conditions at Sochi are as bad as I have ever seen for such a high level game." If I made ice like that I would fire myself from the ice making job.... |
