If you mean this computer, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7208900, then the Windows Task Manager Performance tab will show the load on all available cores.

As to the GPU, GPU-Z will show the load, but looking at your details shows no GPU detected (you didn't install BOINC in protected mode did you?).

Cheers.

Well you now have 100 tasks for your CPU, but BOINC still hasn't detected your GPU which ATM makes me think that you installed BOINC in 'protected Application Execution' mode which means that BOINC won't use your GPU.

Check this post out, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=71499&postid=1361441#1361441.

Cheers.

Well no "Running as a daemon" mentioned there so you havn't installed BOINC in 'protected Application Execution' mode.

What GPU do you have installed and where did you get the driver for it from? (do not use Windows supplied drivers)

"08/02/2014 18:49:16 | | suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 25%" you may want to increase that setting.

Cheers.

In the advance mode click on Advanced and then Preferences then it'll be under the Processor Usage tab.

I still see that no GPU is being detected by BOINC though.

Cheers.

Now, why tell him to use the local preferences, when his clearly log shows he isn't using them yet? Why not just tell him to use the website preferences? There's no Reading preferences override file line in his log.

Also, in an earlier post, you asked him if he hadn't installed BOINC in 'protected Application Execution' mode. It hasn't been called that since BOINC 7.0.65. Since that version, it's been called Service Install, as that's essentially what it is.

But then again why arn't you young brainiacs trying to lend a hand?

Plus arn't local preferences suppose to override web preferences?

And your post maybe critical but I can't really see any help there Jord.

Cheers.

Do not do a "Service Install" as doing so will stop the use of your GPU by S@H (tee-shirt is very uncomfortable).

No, you do not need the service install. Instead, you'll need to install drivers for the GPU, and then drivers by the maker of the GPU, not those supplied by Windows.

In the case of an AMD add-on videocard, or one built into the CPU, get your drivers from AMD.
In the case of an Nvidia add-on card, get your drivers from Nvidia.
You don't seem to have a new Intel CPU, so it isn't an Intel GPU built into the CPU.

After win 7 (or Vista not sure), if you want to use GPU you can´t install Boinc as a service as we do before in the XP era. Why? simple M$ changes the way the video drivers are DL, so we can´t do nothing from our side. But that afects only the video driver so if you not use GPU then you could still install as a service even with Win 7 or 8 as before.

Plus arn't local preferences suppose to override web preferences?

You're trying to order a beer, but the waiter tells you that water is better for you. What do you do?

It doesn't matter what local preferences are or aren't supposed to do. When the user ('s log) shows he isn't using them in the first place, and the user is already easily confused, don't force him to use a whole new set of things. As the next time he'll change something in his web preferences, but forgets he was instructed to use the local ones, and then he'll come complain that it doesn't work.

I'm now staying out of this thread. Too many helpers in here, making things difficult to follow.
