Is this good for scientific research or just a bunch of showbiz tinsel to make the rich and famous feel good about themselves.

I watched the awards program and it seemed to me that some well deserving scientists are finally getting some public attention.

I agree, although it seems even knowing it took place was harder to figure out than joining a secret society cult. They should have better press. I only realized it was going on after someone on Twitter posted about it ending. Considering it is funded by Mark Zuckerberg grants... I was surprised ti was so quiet.
