Hello.

I was wondering if a true admin could help me locate my old classic account to attach to the new one. I know what e-mail I used for the vast majority of the time I had the account. It seems maybe I switched it at the end......can anybody help?

I'm not sure why you need an Admin to help you. Right on the front page there's a link: Instructions for SETI@home Classic users.

Since you already have a BOINC account, you should use the last option under "If you're already using BOINC", claim your SETI@home Classic workunits. Simply enter in the email address you used for Classic and it should be merged with your current account.

I KNOW THAT.

No Classic account exists with the e-mail address: *****@*****.***

If you can't remember the email you used for the original account your chances of having someone try to find it are slim to none.

I had a big time crash 12 Dec 2011 and SETI was the least of my problems. I didn't think about the project for over a year. I did remember the email and password though and when I came back I was surprised to see all of my computers listed from 2006 on.

So your information is there but without your original email and password I don't know how it could be found among the millions of abandoned accounts. How could one prove that was their account anyway as there are no secret questions.

Then the email address is incorrect.

I am not sure that they have anyone free to look up old info in such a fashion currently.

Even when classic was the only project the didn't really have the time/staff to look up such things. I had forgotten my original account address and had to create a new one in Sept '99.
