Message 1467273 - Posted: 22 Jan 2014, 13:07:16 UTC - in response to Message 1467207.

The message indicates that you are using the Anonymous platform, which overrides BOINC's detection of the platform you are crunching with and tells it to use the applications specified in app_info.xml. Your app_info.xml file only has an entry for SETI@home Enhanced (SETI@home v6), and that version of SETI@home has been depreciated with the release of v7.

To solve, you must find a version of v7 that works with your platform and modify your app_info.xml file. If no application exists for v7 on your platform, you can simply turn off v7 via your project preferences.

You can do without the anonymous platform file (app_info.xml) as there are applications for your Mac for Seti@Home V7 and Astropulse available from Seti, without having to do anything manually. See http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/apps.php
Do know that these new applications are already optimized for speed for a lot of CPUs.

To allow that BOINC may run v7 work, first navigate to
- Your Account
- Seti@Home Preferences
Edit these, the make sure that you only select SETI@home v7 and Astropulse v6 as "Run only the selected applications". Next click the "Update preferences" button at the bottom of the screen.

To get rid of the app_info.xml file, first set Seti to No New Tasks in BOINC (BOINC Manager->advanced view->Projects tab->Select Seti->Click No new tasks on the left).
Next finish all work in cache, upload and report it.
Then exit BOINC completely, perhaps check in top that both the boinc-manager and boinc binaries no longer run.
Navigate to the Seti directory, default at /Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/ and remove teh app_info.xml file.
Restart BOINC.
Open BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Projects tab->Select Seti->Click Reset project->Acknowledge that you want to do that.
Next keep Seti selected and click Allow new tasks.

That'll make BOINC download new work and the new science applications plus your new work preferences.

Max, what is your question? I can see that bonic is running on your computer. Currently there is only the bonic program for Macs. I copied the following from a fellow cruncher who posted on this a while back.

The only available Mac GPU App is located here;

http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;catd=35

There are nVidia Apps still in progress. I haven't read anything about it in a while, and just found some recent activity here, http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php?board=7.0. You might have to register to see that, I'm not sure, http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php

As far as I know, unless you are going to work some terminal commands, the SETI data files are installed in the Application Support folder.

I don't run a GPU app on my Mac as I used it on a regular basis. My other computers are windows so I use optimized programs on them. Don't know if this helps or not. This sites are run by volunteer testers, developers. Hope this helps, you should have access to number crunching in the message boards soon and there you can see lots of discussions on variety of problems and solutions. When you first start access is restricted. Happy Crunching
