Hi, I know via that page http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/cert_print.php we can link the Classic and BOINC SETI@Home account and get WUs done and cpu time. But I was wondering if is still available somewhere the date a user FIRST joined on SETI Classic. Just for fun, of course. I do remember joined in late 1990's... but WHEN exactely? TIA Riccardo |

Yes you can, but it takes patience and work. http://seticlassic.ssl.berkeley.edu/ I originally joined on 5/18/1999 under the user name Dan and got 24 credits. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Yes you can, but it takes patience and work. Please: how extactely I can do? I've checked every subpage from User Profile Area (http://seticlassic.ssl.berkeley.edu/user_profile/profile_menu.html) but the alphabetical lists from P and following are empty. Plus the "Edit Profile", the Search by country and every profile link in the alphabetical links to "http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/" (instead seticlassic) so I've still not been able to find anything :( Thanks again. |

I am pretty sure when you like your classic account to your BOINC one that the date displayed is your classic join date. As such you can see the number of workunits and CPU time on your current account page. See here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/home.php or here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=1053628 There is a lot of stuff on the classic site that no longer works or seems to have gone missing, but on Free-DC you can see your current join date ranking. Which is a stat I always liked. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Hi, this is extactely the doubt of another cruncher on the BOINC.Italy team forum. But it's not true. I do remember in 2003 joined SETI on BOINC with an Athlon and linked the BOINC and Classic accounts. Also, Free-DC only expose this "recent" date, just like all others BOINC based stats I begun with distribuited computing in late 1990's with SETI (and GIMPS) on a Pentium 200MMX, and was using the SETI screensaver on it. This is the date I was hoping to recover. Thanks anyway. Riccardo. |

I do remember in 2003 joined SETI on BOINC with an Athlon and linked the BOINC and Classic accounts. You can only merge one Classic account, so you're out of luck on claiming another. See http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_classic.php. When you try to merge a second classic account, you get rejected. Others are in the same situation. I think I had multiple Classic accounts (different e-mail acouunts). Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

I can only guess you had a 2nd classic account. I first signed up for SETI@home I had used a different e-mail address, but forgot the information for it. So I had made a new one September 1999. This is the account I linked to my BOINC account. With the current state of the classic site there would only 2 ways I can think to find an old account. By group name By join date checking each day. As the search on that page no longer functions. This is provided that you had not selected the hide user name function at the time. As there are MANY hidden user names. Thank you Hal, that is what I did. Looking thru pages and pages on the date we first joined. I opened a second account later under my name and a different e-mail addy. This what I am linked to today. You have been with this new account since 2003 and that is a great accomplishment Riccardo. If you and your friend remember the original date you joined, by all means post it in the milestone thread. We are not the only ones who have lost original accounts. Welcome to the boards. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Many thanks. I didn't mind about the daily registration search, will look some page a day 'cause have to check "only" 1999 and 2000 :) Anyway there has been only one account, the SETI/BOINC e-mail address last from 15 years ad minimum. Just hope I was not hidden... doh! this is one thing I forgotten :( Thanks again and... see you late... have to go... the pc speaker is beeping... and beeping... keyboard leds are flashing... the cat is meowing... a soft green light coming out from the case... ... oh my god... its full of stars... :-D |
