Until this days, still some users insist in rescheduling, that´s clearely a bad practice and mess with the RAC off all wingmates (paid lower credits). A waste of resouces for the project and for us users.

An example: This host has In progress (1076) WU !!!

And from the few clicks I made all were AP work.

And a few more :-(

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6716400&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid=12 In progress (797)

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6796479&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid=12 In progress (304)

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6867773&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid=12 In progress (735)

Another lot that also annoy me are those that as soon as AP's are being split abort their MultiBeam work just so they can fill up on AP's.

Cheers.

There is only One App for an ATI Mac. When it's out it's out. It will NOT WORK.
Is that what you want? Machines that produce nothing but Valid tasks to NOT WORK?
Be careful what you wish for. Look at the Top Host list and think about what it Use to Look like. It appears to be growing much Smaller than it use to be. Is that what you want?

Maybe its time to get rid of the rescheduler. Or disable it from working on Seti. But in that Mac ATI case I can see it.

The people at the Top, know how easy it would be to simply take a different route. Dual Boot, Triple Boot, Quad Boot. I could just Boot to Windows and load up that Host with 200. I have Linux, there's another 200. I still have my Mountain Lion Partition...there's another 200.
Or, I could just do what it takes to keep my machine running on one OS.

Please don't tell me you just don't want my best machine running at all. I might have to reconsider your true intentions toward SETI.

I'm sorry TBar, but IMO the people who do this are only showing how greedy and credit hungry they really are.

They also show that they have no consideration for other members here who would like to get their fair share. It's just like birthday parties where the birthday cake is cut into just enough pieces so that everyone should get a piece each, but some miss out because 1 or 2 decide that they should get an extra slice of that cake.

No cheers.

Me too; tell me how to do this; I can be a contender. More cobblestones more glory.

Seems to me this could be evened out by a rework of "creditscrew" with equal pay for equal work.

Is anyone here having trouble getting work? Other than those cases where Apps don't exist? Fair Share?

If it would help find ET, I'm all for anyone who wants to spend the time and money to get as much work as they can complete. I'm not here for my mythical Fair Share, I'm here to find ET.

The Top Computer list is not that large, hopefully it won't shrink any further.

Cheers.

But the number of Faster machines seems to be shrinking. I think they're all mining...or something. Where are all the ATI Hosts? They've disappeared...

Isn't it funny how those who get caught out rorting the system come up with such lame excuses for why they do it?

We're are all here to find evidence of ET otherwise we wouldn't be here at all and it can be done by doing MutliBeam work as well.

Cheers.

Tell me. How do I run MB on an ATI Mac? I bought a Mac to run OSX. My Windows machines are running MBs. In Fact, I'm currently trying to Fix a Bug in MBs. I've been working on a AP bug for a YEAR. It appears they are related.

Would you prefer I boot into Mountain Lion and work my ATI cards there? Why?

For starters you can run them on your CPU and as you're a "Volunteer tester" don't you think that you should start working with others on a MB solution for those cards?

You seem to be very interested in telling other people what they should do. Are you a member of the green party?

If someone wants me to run a new App on my ATI Mac cards, I will. Just as I've been doing for a year. I'm currently running a new MB App in Windows, just started a few hours ago. In fact, as soon as SETI Releases a New Stock Mac App, I'll probably slack off on the Mac. Until then, I'm going to keep running my Mac at full tilt and bumping the MAC thread. Sorry if that offends you. Maybe you should find something else to worry about?
