Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to lose the quick launch icon in the lower right? It just gets annoying after awhile constantly blinking, and I'd just like to lose the icon entirely, but want to keep the program running. Let me know! Thanks

That would be possible with the command line version but I don't know if it is working at the moment. You should have a file in your BOINC folder called boinc_cli.exe. Close out the BOINC gui and then run that exe and that should get you what you want. You need to have some type of monitoring program to make sure it is working like it should.

If you have XP it's even simpler, go to properties on tool bar, click on customize, select the BOINC icon and select always hide from the drop down menu. Saves messing about with monitoring apps and command lines me thinks.
You must also ensure that on the properties screen you have also ticked the hide inactive icons as well or nothing happens.
