Our country FM Carl Bildt call this Balkanization. He is not happy about it.
Catalonia's regional parliament has approved a law that the region's leaders say give them a mandate to hold a non-binding "consultation" - a referendum - Nov. 9 on independence from Spain.

Next perhaps is The Basque Country: (Euskadi. Spanish: País Vasco: French: Pays Basque) is an autonomous community of northern Spain.

Lets not exclude those States of America who would like to do the same....
...."separate away"

Even in the USA:)
But I have read that Puerto Rico is soon state nr 51.

If Puerto Rico is smart they will stay exactly as they are. The protection of the USA without paying Federal income taxes.

*strange lumbering figure hoves into view late... again*

:) *puff* *wheeze*

Just caught up with the thread. *pant pant*

*low-energy maths mode* Ten percent difference... makes 400,000... *head swims and vision fades in and out* just 200,001 votes needed for independence... interestingly close *dull thud* ...

'Scuse me... *long lie down* ...

I don't understand the spite emanating from certain Tory MP's and quarters of the press and the City of London. They should be grateful that, despite their *select more diplomatic version of what is in head* somewhat off-putting behaviour and remarks of the last few weeks and months, Scotland is still with us.

I'm not sure I would have been. In my imaginary assumed guise of being a Scottish national :) I would quite easily have changed my original vote of "No" to independence... to one of "Yes please" and kept all the nuclear stuff just in case we English got even nastier than some have already when the vote came out "no" *astonished goggle-eyed look*

May I end by saying a great big THANK YOU SCOTLAND :) for deciding to give us one last chance :) If you ever DO vote for independence sometime down the line... I sincerely hope we English will make great supportive neighbours :)

I'm not entirely sure we would have done so this time... But that's just my opinion of course :) I could be COMPLETELY wrong... :) *discretely repeat astonished, goggle-eyed look*

I have to correct your correction, laddie.

Henke Larsson won four league titles in seven years with Celtic, scoring a remarkable 242 goals in 315 competitive matches before moving to FC Barcelona in 2004, where he won two league titles and the 2006 Champions League.
Larsson played for Sweden in three World Cups and three European Championships and is a former captain of the national team.

Do you remember World Cup 1994 in USA?
The year England didnt qualify?
Well Sweden came third(!) with Henke Larsson as the striker.

The girl with the Celtic dress looks like Marta from Brazil.
She is good as Pele and have been playing in Sweden for years.
