So this is where a American system gets you a broke and bankrupt country great we got lots to look forward too .

And thank you Americans for putting your ideas into DUMB DUMB head .

As Dumb Dumb is proposing to do the same thing here as you Americans have fantastic .

Of cause there is a alternative it is called GONSKI but hey it came from a Australian so lets not use it ....

and before anybody says anything yes GONSKI is mainly about funding primary , secondary and high schools but with that gone they wish to go down the US way from primary to university and that will mean people like

Tony Abbot the PM
Joe Hockey the treasurer
and pretty much the rest of them all got their education for free and now wish to make everyone else pay through the nose

I see, so you are suggesting that only the rich elite should be able to send their children to college/university.

Is that correct?

You DO ask good questions Bernie! Wonder if this one will get an answer...? :)

I sent my children to college why should I send other. You people have to get your hand out of my pocket. I would be open to a military academy type of situation where they have to put in six years after graduation in public service.

and there in a nutshell is the problem with America. Short sighted, selfish thinking.

Everyone benefits when you have a highly educated population.

You people have to get your hand out of my pocket. I would be open to a military academy type of situation where they have to put in six years after graduation in public service.

hmmm..the fascist approach. Interesting.

That I can agree with.

However you are saying that while you could afford to send your children through college, as I could not afford to, my children should not get the same chances in life because I am poor.

In fact my children should be made to do community service because I am poor.

Of course that is the best way to keep the poor in place make sure they don't get an education.

the argument for sudsidied education is that a person that goes to a uni and graduates earns more and pays more tax than someone that doesn't have a uni degree

earns more and pays more tax than someone that doesn't have a uni degree

this is a line the current DUMB DUMB is using for increasing Uni fees or i should say lifting of the current fixed fees so uni's can charge what they wont .

so in effect Batter up nobody is subsidising education as they have to pay back there student loans and acording to DUMB DUMB pay more tax in there lifetime

If your children attended public universities, I can absolutely assure you that the tuition you paid did not cover the entire cost of educating your children. Their educations were highly subsidized by my tax dollars - money well spent in my view. You're welcome.

Many of those tax dollars went to get Rutgers into the "Big Ten" football conference. Why should Rutgers and other schools be the NFL's minor leagues on the public dime?

I can understand any authority in their stance against feeble excuses by parents in keeping their children away from school.

However, this really does say a lot about some of the a******'s employed within that industry...

Would you have passed GCSE science?

I got 8 out of 9, but that is no surprise because my biology is not my strongest point.

A-levels: test your science knowledge

This one is a bit harder. I got two wrong, one biology and one chemistry, so at least I got all the physics ones right!

First and second=> 4 out of 9. I thought I would have scored less on test 2 and more on test 1. The fact remains I'm much better at Philosophy. Numbers give me the creeps at times *shiver*

GCSE - 6 out of a possible 9 in first but I'll put that down to never studying Biology.

A Level - 4 out of a possible 9, only did Physics at this level, but did know the atomic mass answer.

why would anyone with a top degree go into teaching when they could earn far more in the private sector?

They can teach part time at night while they pursue another career for which they are suited and wait till they are retired to teach full time as I have done. In this way I have satisfied my calling to teaching as well as my affinity for science, engineering and the desire to live a more abundant life.

Hmm.
The ex-deputy prime minister said non-EU students should be left out of official immigration figures to avoid the risk of damaging UK universities.

His call was backed by Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, who said the net targets did not "make any sense".

So, Clegg is in favour of not damaging UK universities...

Remember when you signed this piece of card Nick?

We students do!
