Is there a list of graphic cards that will run BOINC and help me when I get a new machine

Boinc does not run on GPUs. The projects that run under Boinc
on GPUs have different requirements. You should check those
projects for specific requirements but any GPU that can run Cuda
or OpenCL is a step in the right direction.

The built in Intel graphics of the newer CPU's can be used these days for GPU processing. Which is something to consider depending on your budget and purpose of your computer.

I think the OP was looking for recommendations on a graphics card with which to build a cruncher, including SETI, which uses a CPU. As in when you overnight a package to somebody a common term is using Fedex as a verb, not necessarily Fedex itself. :-)

I remember somebody posting either a link to a website or a list somewhere here on the boards about various graphics cards capabilities. I don't remember where it was, though...

This is a list of cards but it changes so I assume it is a list of cards that produced the most work for a set time for a time. The Titan rarely appears on the list.

OP; look at the cards the top machines use and you will have your answer.

And depending on Your operating system and budget you may take a look at this list too. Top hosts

This list should come in handy for NVIDIA cards: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus

For a long time I started a thread: >GTX 6xx / 7xx series overview v1.01<.

There are NVidia also AMD (formerly ATI) graphic cards on which you can run SAHv7 and APv6 >apps<.

Before you buy a graphic card, you should mention which are your primary BOINC projects, because some BOINC projects prefer/or only support one manufacturer of these both.

Yes but again be careful as not many projects support them. I bought two new Dell PCs with integrated INTEL graphics and the only project that can utilize them is Collatz. Einstein should have been OK but requires openCL1.1 and the Dell drivers curently only support openCL1.0. It is also not possible (easily) to download later drivers directly from the INTEL web site as Dell have disabled it!

Einstein requires OpenCL 1.2 drivers, but newer Dells have them pre-installed at the factory. Einstein host 8864187 is an Optiplex 9020 that was ready to run Einstein's Intel GPU application on the day it arrived from the factory - 18 September 2013.

At >SAH beta< the Intel OpenCL SAHv7 & APv6 apps are tested.

IIRC, somewhere here in the NC subforum should be a thread about. For advanced users which could install the apps here .. - or not?

At >Raistmer's< >Twitter Account< you could D/L at least the latest APv6 app.

At >SAH beta< the Intel OpenCL SAHv7 & APv6 apps are tested.

See Beta message 48766 - that's the same Optiplex 9020.

It looks like the SETI apps are close to passing final testing, and might be deployed here in a week or two - depending how many fires the staff have to fight between then and now.

Richard. I hear what you say, but my two PCs were bought at the same time and are not openCL1.2 compatible. They are however lower spec machines than yours so it seems to depend which INTEL processor you buy, just something else for the unwary to beware of.

Out of interest, what version of openCL do the seti apps currently in testing at beta require?

From >SAH beta apps<:
SETI@home v7
Windows/x86	7.03 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah)	7 Nov 2013, 4:25:18 UTC

AstroPulse v6
Windows/x86	6.07 (opencl_intel_gpu_100)	7 Nov 2013, 4:02:25 UTC

It looks like from the <plan_class> that at least the APv6 app require at least OpenCL v1.0.

I guess because of the SAHv7 app it's the same.

If you like, register at >SAH beta< (this is the needed project URL for your BOINC Manager for register there) and test the apps with a few tasks. ;-)

I have just found that there is a new INTEL GPU driver on the Dell web site. This was not there the last time my PC autochecked (26 December 2013). It updates the OpenCL version from 1.00 to 1.01. Unfortunately, this is still not good enough for Einstein which needs 1.02, so I will keep crunching Collatz until the SETI apps currently at beta are made available here and hope they will work with OpenCL 1.01.
