Hi, I have a GT 750M running SETI@Home on Windows 8.1 with Nvidia driver 331.82. Occasionally, a whole batch of cuda50 tasks just don't run properly, resulting in an Nvidia driver crash every 10 seconds. The status would look like this.

Waiting to run (0.0447 CPU + 1 GPU)
Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.
Scheduled wait, CUDA runtime, memory related failure, threadsafe temporary exit.

One after the other, all tasks report the same thign eventually. If I manually suspend the GPU, the CPU tasks work fine. Is this a compatibility issue? Is there a fix that I can try? Any suggestions/comments would be very helpful. Thanks!

It maybe heat related, are you checking running temps?

Is the laptop lifted up off the surface it's sitting on to allow more airflow underneath it?

Also you may also want to take a look at TThrottle to keep temps under control.

Cheers.

I haven't really. Because I do quite an amount of gaming, and I never had any overheating related problems.. I'll check how the temps look. I will also give Tthrottle a try, thanks!

I just started some cuda50 tasks and they crashed within five-six seconds of start. The GPU was at 60 deg C when the first one crashed, about 63 for the second. Temps don't seem that bad. Anything else I could try? I have a cooling pad that I just hooked up. I'll update if there's any improvement.

If I don't suspend my GPU crunching during any of my more graphics intensive games, the driver almost always crashes. Perhaps this might be the source of your issue a well?

While I'm gaming and it is processing GPU tasks, it will cause my AMD Catalyst 13.x driver to crash as well. I too am on Windows 8.1. But after resuming everything runs as normal and it will only do it once an hour or so. It isn't too big of an issue as I just turn off the GPU processing during that time.
