He was a damned good F1 driver, so it's a shame to get injured in the manner he has.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

God bless, and may the Holy Spirit be with him and his family at this time. May he recover quickly with no to minor permanent issues. Thank God he had the sense to wear a helmet.

Most competition skiers break they knees, are operated, and race again, as Lindsey Vonn and Marlies Schild. But they wear special helmets, as ordered by the International Ski Federation. I've read that Schumi's helmet broke on the impact, as that worn by Italian cyclist Casartelli in the Tour de France in 2011. Of course all my prayers go for Schumi, great Ferrari pilot.

GRENOBLE, France -- Michael Schumacher's friends and family took turns by his hospital bed Friday, as fans rallied outside the hospital to support the critically injured Formula One great on his 45th birthday.

It seems he had a video camera on his helmet and that it has been given by his family to the French police. So we shall know the truth.

Speed factor played down in Michael Schumacher accident

London: French police officials said on Wednesday that speed was “not an important element” of their investigation into the December 29, 2013, skiing accident in which Michael Schumacher, the most successful driver in the history of Formula One racing, sustained serious head injuries.

I still do not understand why he had to pass through that rock strewn slope. I've seen the videos, he had a beaten piste at his right and another at his left. My suspicion is that he was following his 14 years old son. I remember skiing with my son, he went down the slope like a bomb, while my daughter followed her dad.

If he does survive, it seems unlikely he will race again. That will be as much a loss for him as the rest of the world :-((

I thought I had read that he had retired from racing. Or maybe just from F1.

That, of course, does not lessen my wishes for his recovery.

He retired after two years with Mercedes-Benz with no results. He could not compete with young drivers such as Sebastian Vettel with Red Bull.

Sorry to non-F1 fans, MSC was the abbreviation for Michael Schumacher on the timing screens, it is normally the first 3 letters of surname, but his brother Ralph was also a F1 driver so it was M SChumacher, without the space.

It's in God's hands, now. All we can do is pray. If it is his time, (and only God knows), then it is his time. This is a terrible way to go, though.

God bless you Michael Schumacher.
