Very sad, a master engineer has passed.

Mikhail Kalishnikov died a day or two ago. Yessir, engineer of the Ak47 has passed.
I would have posted that in the Cafe, but nobody would have given it much notice.

Have a nice day now.........you know how special it is.

I wonder between him and Alfred Nobel who is responsible for more deaths.

It's not the weapon, it's the wielder.
I have no doubt that the AK-47 has saved as many lives as it may have taken.

The BBC did a nice blurb on him. He wanted to make farming equipment but WW2 got in the way.

He just designed the worlds most reliable and most simple to use weapon. He blamed the politicians for its subsequent abuse. To which I can agree with.

His one lament was he should have made a lawn mower as he would have made more money from it.

I dont blame the designer or the weapon for the death that MEN choose to cause.

Really? You want to celebrate the life of another merchant of death?
Yes, I blame him for causing death, just as I blame the manufacturers and the trigger pullers.

For a dude from Kpac, you really seem to have bought into the NRA bullshyte completely.
Careful Mark. Once the Kpacians realize that you've been infected by 2nd amendmentitis, they probably won't allow you to return to the planet of peace.

I have no doubt that the AK-47 has saved as many lives as it may have taken.

That is a bold claim, given its popularity among terrorists, criminals, rebels, child soldiers and repressive regimes.

That said, it was a masterpiece of engineering.
