C=CelciusWay back in the last century we called it centigrade. But Lord Kelvin had to sort those Deg C guys out !!! |

... No, usually the Transitioners keep up with the Splitters very well so the creation time for results is typically just a few seconds after the workunit creation time. I was just noting that the bursts of very high creation rate were not an indication that the PFB splitters can sometimes run very fast. Joe |

Way back in the last century we called it centigrade. Well, that's so contra intuitive... Water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C, simple as that! :þ Whats so strange about that!? :? Never get, what it's all about that strange Fahrenheit stuff... ;) Aloha, Uli |

Way back in the last century we called it centigrade. Well, as I recall, Fahrenheit tried to use a phenomenological scale, but I guess physical chemistry wasn't well advanced in those days -- he set 0 F as the lowest temperature a salt(NaCl)/water mixture could exist without freezing, and 100 F as normal human body-temperature. Nowadays we know that phase transitions are much more reproducible, so we use the triple-point of water and the boiling point at 760 mmHg as 0.01 and 100, respectively, on the Celsius scale. (According to Wiki, it's just a bit more complicated than that...) |

My Spidey-Sense says the Crickets are going to drop soon to the lower plateau level. I hope not. If you are referring to the sudden drop in traffic, AP is not splitting and the ready to send just ran out, so the Crickets should drop down about half and hopefully stay there sending out MB. Unless that is what you meant by lower plateau level, and not a total crash. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

The transitioners have gone out to lunch again so no new tasks are being created. Cheers. |

Seems that they are having a pattern of troubles after the weekly outage lately. Meowsigh. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I have had nothing validated since at least 8:35:01 UTC ("Your Computers" shows same credit numbers). Are the Transitioners involved in that process, too? |

I see the transitioners have all gone down so the splitters have stopped as well. Hopefully it's just a transient thing. Otherwise, we'll have to wait for today's outage to sort thingys again. Meowsigh. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Wow, nearly four whole days since anyone posted in this thread. Well, I just looked at the SSP. It shows the AP splitters running and several tapes in progress, but the AP queue is empty. I suppose the [post interrupted by the fire alarm going off while the outside temperature is 1.4F] guys were off yesterday. I also suppose the splitters will get kicked in today's outrage, and then probably get stuck again. (The alarm was caused by a fog machine in a speech classroom.)
