My new Dell OptiPlex 3010 with Windows 7 Pro has Intel Core i5-3470 CPU. Also has Intel HD Graphics 2500. I just installed the Intel SDK for OpenCL Runtime package. I also found IntelOpenCL64.dll & OpenCL.dll dated 2/1/12 on my hard drive.

She's been crunching along quite nicely the last few days, all S@H v7 7.00 so far. Would OpenCL be able to help process these, or is a GPU or other app. required? BOINC Manager does recognize proper CPU and Graphics. Manager is version 7.2.33 (x86).

There's an OpenCL application for the HD GPU being tested at SETI Beta - well two apps, one for MB and one for AP. I got an Optiplex 9020 recently, and I'm giving the apps a workout here - host 7137742. I was impressed that Dell had installed the right OpenCL drivers for crunching on the GPU - that model has a HD 4600 - right out of the box.

I doubt there would be any benefit from adding an OpenCL middle layer of complexity for the CPU - we have pretty good native CPU apps here already.
