Good morning all,

Last week I updated my GPU from a GTX 580 to a GTX 780. Today I was looking at my work units and noticed that none on the ones for the GPU are being processed.
I went back and looked at the EVENT LOG and this was what I foung:

Could be something totaly diferent but: Did your GPU apears when you run a program like GPU-Z? If no try to reinstall the nvidia driver from clean instalation, and don´t forget DL the driver direct from Nvidia site only. To Boinc use the GPU windows needs to see it first.

GPU-Z does detect the GPU. And my PC does recognize the GPU.

Wierd, i´m not a hardware expert but if was with me i try to reintall the driver from a totaly clean instalation, including the DL of the latest driver from Nvidia site, aparently something is missing that prevent Boinc to use your GPU since it even recognices the GPU itself. Don´t forget to compleately reset the host after the instalation. Maybe even reinstalling the Boinc itself after that, besides a possible very rare hardware failure on the GPU itself, my guess is something was missing or corrupted when you exchange the GPU´s. Or wait for some more advanced user give you a better tip.

I had the exact same thing happen to me.
I ended up re-installing Boinc, setting my computing preferences to always use the GPU and 100% of my cpu's. I then rebooted and saw my GPU's, I then set my preferences back to what I wanted.

Oh, I also did all my Windows updates during that time.

You may have to abort all your tasks, uninstall Boinc, blow away your Boinc directory in the c:\program data directory, then reinstall. You'll have to change your folder view to be able to see hidden files and folders to see the program data dir.
Don't forget to copy down the correct config file to enable both GPU's to werk.

Hopefully someone here can give you a better answer so you don't have to resort to that.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled BOINC. That did not correct it.

Funny how I updated the CPU on the same day and I had problems with that.
