Hi folks, I would like to configure one of my systems to crunch GPU only (no CPU) tasks, but other systems should be able to crunch both GPU and CPU. The cc_config.xml file has an 'exclude_gpu' option, but no 'exclude_cpu' option. Is there a way to configure each system separately to exclude CPU crunching ? Thanks, Tom |

Don't need to mess with any file at all. Use the switches on your SETI@home preferences page: set up two different 'venues', and assign the 'GPU only' computer to a non-CPU using venue. |

Hi folks, Yep, you need to set it up on the site and move the appropriate machines over to the venues. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project Set up one of the other 3 options to not do CPU and then go into your computer details page and at the bottom will be the selection menu. |

Thanks for the feedback. Just a note: for my computer I can select a profile named 'mobile'. This seemed most appropriate for my Android device over on Beta, but there is no way to configure this profile in the account settings (just home/work/school there). Same thing over here on regular Seti. I use the 'work' profile now so its no big deal, but maybe someone should fix the inconsistency. Tom |

Ah. The 'mobile' venue was added in the expectation people might like to use it for Android devices, but never fully implemented. I agree, it would be less confusing if it was hidden completely until ready for prime-time. The other four are good to use, and there's no necessity to use the pre-set labels for computers that match those particular descriptions. |
