Recently reinstalled Boinc to help with SETI@Home projects and the like, but after adding SETI@home projects (login in as usual), whenever I choose to add a new one and then try to login, it says that my email or password are incorrect. Even changed the password at the website once more and typed it very slowly just in case I make unseen typos but to no avail, cannot add Milkyway@home and such due to this weird glitch.

Any solutions or workaround? I really want to work on several projects at the same time but this is blocking my contribution attempts to them.

(how is that I got no credit from the last time I worked on the projects some years ago? still displays as 0 - just adding this new question because I don't understand what is happening to my account at all despite the age of it looks like I made nothing at all since then)

Let's clear up a potential confusion - do you mean projects (like SETI@Home), or tasks - the bits of a project you are sent to work on? (We've had a lot of questions where folks have got the wrong answer because of this confusion.)

The most likely reason you are not able to pick up your old account is that you have changed the email address you are using to identify yourself to both BOINC and the project - you need to use exactly the same address to log on, not only that the same password as used the last time around (and I know that can hurt the memory - I first joined S@H about 13 years ago, but cannot remember the old email account which I terminated about 10 years ago...)

Projects are individual entities. You need to make an account at every one separately, or use an --external-- account manager to add multiple projects at once.

This means that even if you have an account here at Seti and you changed its password, that your account at Milkyway will not automatically have the same email address and password when you registered there. And when you try to newly add Einstein@HOme, you will have to make a new account there. All separate projects, all separate databases.

The unique identifier for a project is the email address.

Thanks for the prompt answer. I mean projects as when you get to choose if you want Astronomy, Physics and Chemistry ones or just Biology and Medecine and the like from the drop down menu. When you choose one, it asks you to type your email and password to login but after adding SETI@home from one of the available at the Astronomy, Physics and Chemistry list.

Now that you mention it, looks like I need to recover the password for Milkyway@home if I want to add it? Augh, wish I had a single one for everything. Thanks for pointing this out. Going to recover password for Milkyway and the new ones I plan to add and see what happens.

And autoanswering my bonus question, I believe my credit is 0 because on that time I only added Milkyway as the only task to work. Sorry, my bad! *blushes*
