I managed to get a new PC, and wanted to rejoin SETI's work. I downloaded and installed BOINC, joined the project and started running, but when I switch to the screensaver it just displays a progress bar, a %, running and stimated time... on top of BOINC's logo... I was wondering if it's a configuration problem or the old 3d graphics are gone. Running setup: GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz [Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7] (4 procesadores) NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 (1024MB) driver: 331.65 OpenCL: 1.01 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) |

If you are using the GT520 to process SETI@Home tasks then there is no screen saver. The simple reason being that the GPU is going to be working flat out doing "useful" work and won't have anything left to do the "pretty" stuff associated with the screen saver. Which isn't true, you know? When you run Seti tasks on the CPU, their graphics application can be run at the same time as your GPU is doing calculations. As another example, Einstein's GPU app comes with the graphics app and works flawlessly with it, both on CUDA and OpenCL. |

I can't help much, but I know not every type of work unit produces a screen saver. Your GT 520 is not very powerful and if it's running a screen saver it will take a lot longer to process a gpu work unit. There's ony so many gpu processor cycles to go around. Have you gone to screen personalization to see if a screen saver named "BOINC" is even listed? |
