Here's something large, a 13'7" long 741.5lb alligator, caught in Mississippi...

Is the alligator dead? Is it being moved?

What a shame such a magnificent creature is no longer swimming in its ancestral home.

+ 1000

It was killed Angela :( According to a report I found, the "conservation program" that brought the mississippi alligators back from the brink of extermination has been so "successful" that licenses are being granted to hunters to keep the numbers under control. Whilst I can understand the reasoning behind culls, the method I think should always be humane, and this licensing method - judging by the story told by those that killed it - was prolonged and far from humane :(

Pretty much non-negotiable in my book. I intensely dislike "culls" of any kind but I have to accept why they are done. Anyway back to happier things.

YAY RACCOONS!!! :)

That was my first thought, as well.

It sucks that people can't leave these majestic creatures alone.

That size gator could rip one limb from limb, by just twisting ones limbs off, from what I read people down there will eat it and use the leather.

In case you can't tell, that's Quark, disguised as a female (much to his own disgust).
