Hi guys I have Boinc set to download up to 10 days of work but it never does it will from having no work download and run 14 packages and will have 4 or 5 spare after some 3 to 4 hours I have to come back to the computer and manually update to be able to send results and get new work, but it never brings down work for 10 days. Any ideas.. George. M/B ROG rampage IV. i7-3930k O/clocked 4.20Mhz. 2 x O/clocked GTX670. 16Gb DDR3. 256 Gb SSD. 1500W Toughpower PSU. |

Seti has a maximum of 100 tasks for CPU plus 100 tasks for GPU in place, so you won't even be able to download 10 days worth of work. The maxima are not per core and not per GPU, but in all. Added to that, what values did you set for the Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least X days and ... and up to an additional Y days preferences? |

Maintain enough tasks is set to 10 days and the other is set to 0.25 days.. M/B ROG rampage IV. i7-3930k O/clocked 4.20Mhz. 2 x O/clocked GTX670. 16Gb DDR3. 256 Gb SSD. 1500W Toughpower PSU. |

With BOINC 7 the way work is being asked changed. The "Maintain at least" value is a low-water mark. BOINC will not contact the project before those 10 days are up, which can result in you being without work. You won't be able to break the 100 + 100 tasks maximum, but you could make sure that BOINC is a bit better in asking for work when it needs to. How about you change "Maintain" to 2 days and "Additional" to 3? |

Ok that sounds feasible. But what happens is whatever Boinc downloads it finishes all of them in approx. 3>4 hours what so I would like it to is upload immediately and download more work so that Boinc never sits idle... In that case set, Maintain to 0 and Additional to any number you like. 0 + 1 will always immediately upload & report, since the low-water mark is zero days. |
