It was running before the power failure at the colo.

Cheers.

I think the current incarnation of the NTPCKR is more like NTPCKR-lite, when it does operate. There are a lot of interesting features mentioned in the FAQ, which I don't believe have ever been completed.

That link gives "The public version of this page is currently offline, as we are still developing large parts of the code."

And, that's exactly the status of NTPCKR as well.

The project always said that after they cad compiled a significant database of data, they would do a second sift of likely candidates and resend them out as workunits, hence Nitpicker. If my memory serves me correctly there were two machines that were donated specifically for Nitpicker use, but eventually were found more useful doing other tasks. Muarae2 is currently off line but whether the three Muaraes are separate machines or 1 box split into three I don't know.

I'm quite sure that Eric and the gang have it all in hand, but it would be nice to see this aspect of the project move forward a bit.

Has there ever been an explanation of what the project needs to get the NTPCKR (fully) operational? I know the short answer is: time &/or money. But, is there a more detailed explanation?

Development. It's been indicated (by the SAH team of course) that it isn't ready for "prime time". I remember when it was public-facing it was indicating stupendous results of repeating gaussians all over the place, so the results aren't reliable. So it's been moved offline until the programming can be fixed (and possibly code added to filter out the known RFI sources.)

They also directly confirmed that the hardware is now up to the job at the colo facility which is why the new NTPCKR server GPUUG fundraiser project was scrapped, with the funds to be moved to the upcoming SERENDIP receiver project.

(Edit: You probably already know this but I post for those who may not.) :^)

Not that I know of at least. If we don't have any other updates, I'm not going to bother the SAH team about it until the SERENDIP VI receivers are built and we're happily into steady-state crunching of Green Bank data.

Then I'm going to bother them about it a lot. :^)
