To All; This is the first online forum I have ever participated in. With that said the destruction of the café Community has been a sad affair, I now know why forums have moderators. The legal ramifications Of a online forum are minimal at best and I don’t think it makes Berkeley libel for the content of What is transmitted here. Just like in the real world you have the good and the bad and it is just part of life. Now I don’t agree with people who have personal agendas like WW, and I can take the silliness of Guido. We can moderate ourselves when it comes to outlandish behavior, I myself Have a silly sense of humor. What I am concerned about is the fragile minds that read this forum. The younger minds and the impression that is portrayed here. Also there are some fragile adults whom can’t tell a joke from reality. The participation in these forums is actually a meeting of many minds and views. So we will have Uninhibited verbal exchanges from some who have no social skills or values. The filtering tool we have at this moment is a small step towards self moderation, But when you have The abuse of Anti-Guido and anti-W.W. with X’s and 666 posts’ these are the ones that need be wiped off the threads and or the person is limited like Guido is in some other forums he is on. That filtering tool sometimes can be used as a weapon to some but it is a basic tool of moderating. I believe in free speech, but I don’t agree with Terrorist, Pedophiles and Religious Bullies. I don’t have all the answers and like I have said before, I am not going away and I would like the Café back to somewhat Normal. It was fun and enjoyable and it still can be….. Timmy |

I will try to adhere to this and self moderate. > > Lets Declare PEACE for at least a week and start new Threads, Let the old ones > die. > > Timmy It's not really necessary to start new threads (though some have gotten way too long-not BOTD). A concerted effort not to open [Edit: or post in] any thread started by WordWeaver and consistent negative ratings of his posts would effectively exclude him through our own actions. It's not censorship, it would be each participant exercising his or her own personal choice. |

> Peace is boring. > War is boring, after all, it's just the same old thing again and again and again. Peace would be exciting because it least it would be a change from the usual. |

He wouldn't last five minutes at Riker's Is.. Maybe ten at the Nassau Co. jail. I'd actually like to see Blurb Heaver try to file a lawsuit. I'll be laughing my ass all the way to the ¢ount€r$uit. |

I hope so. My French is crap - I read a lot of "Poirot" and make up the rest by drawing heavily on my Spanish and Interlingua. I'm sure that Marc (Wherever he's gone off to) will spot the errors. :-) |
