Message 1427404 - Posted: 12 Oct 2013, 1:45:58 UTC - in response to Message 1427401.

Last night I had grilled figs, goat cheese, toasted walnuts and a sprinkling of microgreens on a woodfired pizzetta. Beats sausage ANY day!!!

That's not eating. That's grazing.

I'm not sure I'd even call it pizza.
Maybe an open face quiche or something like that.

Yep, agreed, that can't be pizza, sounds like a horrible thing, no Meat, oh da horror...

I not saying it would be so horrible....might be very tasty.
Just certainly not my idea of anything I should call a pizza.

I like pizza with meat and/or with some veggies, just so there's no pineapple or liver or anchovies on it.

I'm trying to remember what TV character said "Is any of what you just said food?" I think it was on The West Wing... Yeah, Leo to the President, who had just described what was being prepared for him by a famous French chef.

No, come to think of it, I think it was Josh.

Some might say that's a cheese pizza here, but since I've never had that I'd reserve judgement until I had a piece or two...

This though is from Pizza Hut and it has meat and veggies, yum.

There's a little wood-fired pizza place on Main Street that serves Mediterranean-style pizzas. Most are tomato sauce or creamy Alfredo sauce, multiple cheeses, various veggies, artichokes..... Only one has pepperoni on it. None of then bad, but I prefer MEAT with the veggies on my pizza. But as Dr Asimov used to say, di gustibus non-disputandum est.

And one time on the boat, off the coast of (classified), the messcooks couldn't find the pepperoni for pizza night, so they used grilled SPAM. Not bad, but some of the guys were so not pleased about it, they held inventory on the dry stores tank and found 4 10-pound tins of pepperoni hiding under the 25-pound cans of coffee.....

I love cooked spam. Fried on a pizza sounds great. My father introduced me to an old Canadian Army tradition that I still enjoy once in a while. Balogna (balony for you Yanks), sliced about 1/4 inch thick, and pan fried. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Yep, but what you don't know is, that I went to Breakfast with a friend and didn't order the Quiche.
I will never make that mistake again.
