Berkeley SETI scientists will be at the California Academy of Sciences this week. Dan Werthimer will be giving a talk Thursday night (Oct 10) at Nightlife at the Academy. Eric Korpela, Andrew Siemion, and other SETI scientists will be there as well to answer questions and chat about SETI. Nightlife runs from 6pm to 10pm and is for people aged 21 and over.

On Saturday and Sunday, Eric and Andrew will be participating in Brilliant!Science: Extraterrestrial Life also at the Academy. They'll be giving demonstrations and explaining SETI techology and techniques. This event is child friendly and runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

BTW, we have Festival of Science this weekend here in Russia. Nice coincidence :D

Maybe someone closer to Moscow than to Berkeley could participate ;) Some interesting presentations about human origin, life origin and search of extraterrestrial life planned (along with many other interesting things).

A downloadable video recording would be more useful than a live stream in some time-zones. 'Nightlife' becomes 2am-6am in the UK - and sorry, Eric, I won't be staying up for you.

Ditto regarding event session video streaming and/or making recorded video available. It would be nice to learn more about project status, results, and path forward. Thanks....

Love to come up for tonight's event, but I'm working again, and it's a 4-hour drive to Berkeley. Maybe in the Spring.

edit] Yes, a video download from the S@H website would be very nice, not to mention a potential marketing tool for the project...

Enjoy it Eric as I know you will! And I agree with Richard, a downloadable video file at some point would be good to see.

North Florida is so far away (in several respects) that it might count as a remote , inhabited planet. Whatever, I won't be able to attend though I'd like to.
