That's normal John. A person you lived with for such a long time, is gone now. I'm praying for you.

As Julie says its normal. The only way I can describe it is, It felt like half of my soul was ripped out. There is a ritual where when two people get married they have two candles burning and then they both light one candle which symbolizes that two become one. After my wife died I felt like I was just a half of a person.

And John if you feel that this is out of place please feel free to redX my post.

And Julie that offer goes to you also.

Take care.

Firstly thank you for all your kind words to me and to John, and I know that your thoughts have been a great comfort to him at this time. Johns memories will be so fresh that he could almost expect her to walk in the room at any moment. But as time heals the loss, he will move on from this surreal interim phase. I base this on my own experience when my mum died, and others experiences of losing a partner or close relative. I am glad to know that John has the doggies, his family, Seti friends, and of course Skype. I'll be going up for lunch before Xmas.

I'm desperately sorry to hear of your loss, John - my most sincere condolences and my very best wishes to you and your family. My thoughts are a bit of a jumble, so I'll just thank Chris for being a 'rep' for S@H.

Kindest regards, Iona
