My first post on these boards came a year and a half after that.

The only computer that I still have from then is the laptop and it will not run off the battery.

In that day and age that NEZ was probably running Seti on an entire office building full of computers ;-)

Actually it was a school district, and it eventually cost him his job in their IT Department. There's a thread or two about it here somewhere.....

I remember being jealous of NEZ and wanting to have access to a farm that could produce those kinds of numbers. I remember all the conspiracies and theories that were floating around about who it was and what their farm was, but he never replied to PMs and had the computers hidden.

It's always fun to look back through the web archives. Like switch the page to top users instead..

I always despised NEZ.

He was obviously tapping resources he had no permission to do so.

I take GREAT pride in the fact that I can sit here and eyeball every computer on my farm.
9 rigs. I know each and every one of them inside and out. I AM them.
There were a few others that attempted to route Seti though unauthorized resources.

I don't cheat, I don't steal, I don't lie.
I just do what I do, and do it well.

And pay every dime along the way.

You have fun remembering NEZ.

I don't.

Look on the bright side, you're still eligible for
a toaster.

Sure don't see many of those people here anymore.

I still have not seen the signup for the toaster.

Or there creds required for such and aquisition.

I would be most grateful if somebody wiser than I would give me the toaster page link/.

Matt, if they REALLY were giving away toaster ovens it would be fair to give them to REAL dedicated people and luckily there are a lot around here.

You have the recourses to run 9 rigs, me i.e. only to run one and an occational laptop but the dedication is the same...

Can your bank make mine a 30mm Raden or better a 105mm light gun?

The last thing you need is a toaster generating more heat around there. :)

But what about the promise of lots of hot buttered toast with maple syrup or honey?
