This morning I had a problem with some pop-ups that I think came from a new type font that I downloaded. I bought and installed SpyHunter and RegCure. Result, popups seem to have gone but so have my usual four running usual tasks. They were all junked and I have not got any back. CUDA tasks are running normally on my NVIDIA card. I suspect that one of my new programs is somehow blocking BOINC from working normally, but...
Just in case I reinstalled BOINC but that made no difference.
How do I get my work back up and running?

StdErr says:
<message>
couldn't start app: CreateProcess() failed - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
(0x20)
</message>

App details says you've been cut back to one v7 cpu task / day. If you can get that and crunch it, the limit will increase (and sometimes gets ignored). Is BOINC asking for cpu work?

PS you can ask mods to delete the accidental duplicate thread by red x.

No. It is only asking for NVIDIA work. Many thanks.

I bought and installed SpyHunter ...

See what people think about SpyHunter:

And there are free programs like:

Misery is me for sending good money after bad!
On a brighter note, I am once more crunching 5 units at a time: 1 CUDA and 4 CPU, so the crisis appears to have ended (for now?)
Many thanks for all help and suggestions.
Oh, and live long and prosper.

And Scheduler gave you 100 cpu v7 tasks but your max daily limit is still one. That's why I said earlier that the limit sometimes gets ignored. Oh well, such is life at SETI.

SETI@home v7 7.00 windows_intelx86
Number of tasks completed 2576
Max tasks per day 1
Number of tasks today 100
Consecutive valid tasks 0
Average processing rate 13.123956537986
Average turnaround time 3.97 days
