I know this may not be the place to put this, but since this is where everyone congregates -- Microsoft released the preview for Win 7 IE11 today. I installed it and it does seem to load web sites faster. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2013/09/18/ie11-release-preview-for-windows-7-30-faster-than-other-browsers-and-even-more-support-for-web-standards.aspx?loc=zTS1z&prod=zIEz&tech=zOttechz&prog=zOTprogz&type=zBLz&media=zOTmediaz&country=zUSz I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Yes, some of us still use IE. D/l'ed Chrome the other day and wasted, and I mean wasted, a complete afternoon trying to get the da)&*mmn thing to work properly. Gave up after 4 hours, went back to IE10 with no problems. Chrome wouldn't load half of the sites that I went to, and those that did load did so with no improvement in load time; some even took longer. Tried it with and w/o IE installed, didn't matter. Never again!! I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Yeah, I don't use Chrome. My point of view is that I use google to search for just about everything so google does not need to know anymore about me. I use FireFox. Not that you need to switch or anything. If you are happy with what you have, that all that matters. |

Since the problems with 9/10, I'll wait until it hits general release. |

Since the problems with 9/10, I'll wait until it hits general release. The major problem that I've had with IE10 was with it going south and pages having to recover for some reason. Since installation, IE11 has not gone south. Depending on the web site, I've found that response time is greatly decreased, even on extremely busy sites like CNN & Huffington Post, and so far I like it. Right now there is an ongoing incident at the WH and the Congress building (shooting) and I am having not problems with either of those sites. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |
