I don't know how things are down south, but up here eucalyptus is an "invasive exotic". They are fairly flammable, they drop dangerous slippery leaves all over our winding hilly roads and nothing eats them, including the deer!

How about goats?

Did I mention here that our park district rented some goats to eat the poison ivy in one of the parks? They aren't allergic to it, they love it, and they also eat all the other junk vegetation in the way of getting to the ivy. Plus they fertilize the good stuff that's left. And the cost of renting them was only half of what it would cost to hire people to do it.

Herds of goats are for hire in our area as well. I have seen them used for "fire control" on the hillsides. They munch everything down better than weed whackers can do. I don't know if they eat eucalyptus saplings or not. (And as an aside, I've always wanted to put a cool job title down on my tax return such as "Modern Day Goatherd"!)

But, I return you now to the glorious topic at hand...

Four more boxes to go through this weekend, and then I'm officially "decorated"!

Here's a monster you don't see everyday...

It's a Horse of a different skin...

And the subject of tonight's nightmare has been decided. :P

Never mind the nibbles, what about the main meal?

Beverage choices include hot apple spider, spiked boo-berry punch and a variety of sparkling swamp waters.

The appetizer buffet includes chain rattlin' cheese-chutney spread for crackers, toadstool tartletts, a frightening fresh fruit platter, shrieking shrimp with calamitous cocktail sauce, vampire vineleaves with terrifying tzatziki sauce, bacon wrapped albino spider bites, and pumpkin seeds.

Dessert offerings include cauldron kettle corn, bat entrails and petrifying pumpkin bars.

Party favors are bags of perilous peanut brittle.

There is no better nosh than chicken giblets
and spam fried up with eggs over and toast.
It gets cold on Halloween with the screen out
