I nominate the human eye. Everyone who wears corrective lenses or has had corrective surgery knows the clown who designed the eye was an incompetent or malevolent. For those of us who have developed cataracts there is no choice, it was a malevolent SOB.

I nominate the design of the human spine.
What the hell was the invisible sky dude thinking when he stacked a bunch of bones up vertically with the expectation that it would hold up under the stress of workloads applied to it.

The human spine is proof that intelligent design is a myth.

I certainly know that my spine is stuffed, but I reckon the worst part of us is having our air passage and digestion track being shared instead of both being separate.

Cheers.

Well i have 20/20 vision so i'm happy with the eye, no spinal trouble so i'm happy with that too.

I'd say probably the female reproduction system (bear with me here...)
I ran this past a couple of female colleagues first, and they both agreed that childbirth should be much easier, and to counter this, conception should be harder.

I suppose this could actually link to the spine suggestion too, since it's due to our walking on two legs that birth became much harder, because the child has to turn a corner to get out.

The human male foreskin since in some cultures it's the first body modification done at a very early age.

Ouch! *crosses legs*

yes why does this dummy think those huge object need to pass out such a small hole(childbirth) Why make it so difficult?

baby making more difficult? perhaps and American ninja competition. If you don't do all the tasks properly and in the specified time you fail the event.

I would add the kidney - why does such a vital organ have such appalling plumbing that it clogs up with impassible stones....

I nominate the poorly designed DNA molecule and the DNA replication machinery. Cells keep making errors in copying the DNA, leading to cancer. And then there's all those nasty inherited diseases caused by mutations in genes. Could have designed a much better DNA proof reading mechanism. And got to agree that using the spinal column, which was designed for 4 legged animals, for humans is poor engineering. And my personal favorite, why 2 kidneys but only 1 heart? And why can the liver regenerate itself but other organs can't? Why not give us some back up organs and better repair functions.

Everyone seems to be upset with the fantastic design element called planned obsolescence. This seems strange as planned obsolescence seems to be adopted by the most successful enterprises on earth.

What about teeth. Sheesh they don't fit and some folks including myself have some crooked teeth. I noticed the highly evolved dog doesn't have such tragic teeth. Why us?

Well Sarge, the invisible sky dude also saw it fit to not have me born as a member of the idle rich, so I've had to feed my family with my bent back.

I must have misplaced the manual, or it was taken from me when they pounded that Protestant work ethic into my brain... I think I'm finally becoming deprogrammed because I'm really enjoying down time as I get closer to retirement.
