I have been running Boinc for about a year but I don't know what to do about this error message. I saw that there are several threads with this topic but nothing seems to be working.

Which error message? None of the ones you posted apply to Seti@home

In June Seti@Home released a new science application, that you have to select through the project preferences. Click the link, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Edit SETI@home preferences.

Next, just make sure that Use CPU is checked.
At Run only the selected applications check:
√ SETI@home Enhanced
√ SETI@home v7
√ AstroPulse v6

Also check If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?

Click the Update preferences button at the bottom of the page.

Next open BOINC Manager.
Simple View->Select Seti@Home from the Projects drop-down menu->Click Project commands->Update.
Advanced View->Projects tab->Select Seti@Home->Click Update from the Commands menu on the left.

Now BOINC will know what your preferences are for here at Seti ... all available work. If you do not want to run Astropulse tasks, as these can take quite a while on your Core2 Duo, then uncheck that only. Seti v7.00 is the new application, as long as it's unchecked you will not get any work here.
