This is a known problem with all integrated Intel graphics chips. There is no solution at this time.

As far as I know, it's a drivers problem, not one with the actual graphics application. So tell Intel to hurry it up.

Just like I miss the old SetiSpy app.

BOINC has various add-on software options as well, including BOINCSpy which does the same thing. Or you could use SetiSpirit. See http://boinc.berkeley.edu/addons.php for links.

I hate to say something so obvious and simple BUT...any ideas as to why it is that I don't have any problems with any other type of graphical display except the seti@home FTP graph? It is hard to believe that this is an Intel problem when the problem/symptom is isolated to this one single application...just saying. Does this seem like a reasonable assertion/observation? Any solutions yet (for seti@home or Intel)? Thanks all.

Maybe this thread might help.

Not really, as that thread is all about testing the OpenCL science application running on the Intel GPU, it's got nothing to do with the OpenGL drivers not working correctly, or lacking parts of the Seti@Home OpenGL screen saver.

The Seti screen saver itself hasn't been changed since Seti Classic. It was just ported over from Classic, and some code changes were made so that the thing moved around --so as not to burn in on the then used CRT and LCD screens. It was then recompiled using OpenGL 1.0

These days most videocards are OpenGL 3 and 4, and only some are backward compatible with OpenGL 1.0; mostly the brands that have been releasing videocard models since the dawn of time. It's possible that the newer brands just lack the backward compatibility that's needed to display the graphics correctly.
