On a few of my machines I get the tray notice that there's a notice waiting for me.. I click on waking up Boinc/SETI and read the notice (usually about internet connectivity).. Then I close/minimize Boinc again.. but again the notice notice pops up... Sometimes I have to reboot the machine to get rid of them.. I have tried as many as 100 (I stopped at 100) "check ins" but it just doesn't stop. It would only be a bit annoying if it wasn't on a part of my screen that I use alot so I'm obliged to "deal" with it.. I've looked around but I have not seen anyone else with this problem -or who care enough to ask about it- and yes.. I have re-re-re-re x 17 installed it in various forms - service/screensaver/regular/default..
HELP!

thanks..I needed that.. or a snickers bar..

Open BOINC Manager.
In Simple View: Tools->Options->Change Notice interval to Never.
In Advanced View: Tools->Options->Change Notice interval to Never.
OK.

Thanks for that.. Of course I'll never get any notices now but one does what one can..

I still think it's a bug though..

Setting the Notice interval to Never doesn't mean BOINC doesn't get notices. It just means that you don't get the informational balloons about it anymore.
