Message 1415433 - Posted: 14 Sep 2013, 4:01:32 UTC - in response to Message 1415427.

I would say either 2x AP or 3x MB or 1x AP and maybe 2x MB, but the usual YMMV applies.

Best though is to just start off small unit first (2x MB or 1 MB + 1 AP) until the RAC levels out and then step it up a notch and see what happens.

My GTX660's do best running 3x MB's (AP's I just like to keep my CPU cores happy).

Cheers.

My dual GTX660s @ 2GB run 2 APs or 3 MBs each with no problem, so you should be able to do at least that. When I'm forced to run MB on this machine and they end up being mixed with an AP tasks its usually 1 & 1.

I don't buy computers, I build them!!

Please post the Boinc startup from the Event Log, the first 30 lines will do.

According to your list of hosts you don't have a Dual GTX670 host, hence the need for your startup log.

The thread title says 670s.....the Boinc log says 680s.
Not a big difference, just wondering why.

Also would like to see a work request...is it asking for GPU work?

It's only starting setiathome_v7 version 700 tasks, make sure you have the GPU acivity menu set to 'Use GPU based on preferences'
(As it's got GPU anonymous platform tasks already)

You'll also want to change the Boinc version to 7.0.64, the 7.2.5 version you're running is a development version, it's got a number of Bugs in it, and has been superceeded by six versions since it was released, the present version under testing being Boinc 7.2.11, and even that has at least one reported Bug in it.

Double check that "Use GPU while computer is in use." is selected in the local preferences. OR "Suspend GPU work while computer is in use?" = NO on the website preferences. Whichever prefs your using.

I downgraded my Boinc to stable build and check all settings. Still saying waiting to start.

Still saying waiting to start.

Why are they waiting - because there's not enough memory or the GPU is missing or what else?

Run Always

The GPU activity menu doesn't have a 'Run aways' setting!!!! That is for overall usage.

The Options for the GPU activity menu are 'Use GPU always', 'Use GPU based on preferences' and 'Suspend GPU',

So again, I ask what postion the GPU activity menu is set to?.
