It's been 19 days since I've seen anymore clothes moths, either the park has eradicated the varmints or something else has happened to them.. :) It's climate change Vic! Yeah that's it, climate change..... |

I found a very large insect in my home on Wednesday morning. It didn't move anymore so I thought it was dead. I put it in the sink and when I got home from work I poured some beer over it (LOL). An hour after that it flew around as though nothing happened. Now who says that beer isn't a miracle worker? :)) rOZZ Music Pictures |

An exciting bug find in my back yard just now. I saw one of the cats pawing at it and had to go see what it was. It's a beauty, but I'm afraid it isn't going to fly again. Dammmit. Does anyone know what this is? Some sort of dragonfly or damselfly, maybe? * ~Sue~ |

I've looked it up and I think it's some sort of Robber Fly. That pointy think sure looks scary! ~Sue~ |

That's the biggest bug I've ever seen and on your finger too. Well Vic, not everybody shares the antipathy you feel towards members of Class Insecta... |

That's the biggest bug I've ever seen and on your finger too. It's not like I like insects, I like insects as long as they are outside, inside there is nothing here for them, they die here and I've caught a few and released a few outside, unharmed. I did earn that merit badge in Environmental Science afterall, that took days to pass. Unlike First aid and Cooking, those were easy and I was only 12 then. I've looked it up and I think it's some sort of Robber Fly. GACK! Sorry, but if I see that outside my house, I'm avoiding it. I see it inside, I'm squishing it. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Well for the last 2 to 4 weeks I've not seen any moths or any small black bugs, maybe it's the hot air, the trap for the clothes moths is for males and the last ones I got rid of were female(they weren't in the trap), so maybe there aren't anymore males, since I've not seen any of those in close to 2 months, not a one. My most recent unique visitor. Some version of a longhorn beetle, approximately one inch long (not including those antennae, of course). Found its way into my bedroom and was escorted outside after the photo shoot. ~Sue~ |
